I really want to try leggings this fall, but I have extremely wide calves and most are too tight there. Any recommendations on a brand that might work for me? Are there any stores you're especially liking right now for fall clothes?
I saw LulaRoe has tall and curvy black leggings on their web site. I assume those will be too small on me since they are size 12-22 and I am on a 20/22 with wide calves. Anyone have experience with those?
Have you tried Zella leggings? They are super thick and despite my big calves they always fit fine. They also run large -- I think when I was in an 18/20 pant size I could wear a women's XL. I would try a 1X and I think they'd work great.
Zella from Nordstrom. Get the live in leggings. They are thick, have a wide waistband, and are very comfortable. I always have to size up in Zella (tops and bottoms), so keep that in mind.
I prefer long light weight sweaters. My best ones are from Macy's. I felt like with leggings I needed something thicker than a cotton tunic -- no lumps or bumps.
I wear the old navy yoga pants as leggings. I actually just discovered these and really like them. I am wearing a pair right now actually with the target tunic.
My other issue is that my freakish calves do NOT fit in boots. I'm not even sure I can find an extra large calf boot to work. I am going to measure myself and do some online boot hunting tonight. If that fails, I'll just do leggings, light sweaters and flats until it snows.

I'm no help on leggings because I have the opposite problem. Really thin calves compared to my thighs and the rest of my body. I like to wear tunics, oversized button ups, long sweaters, and dresses with my leggings. I'm a leggings as pants person as long as the butt is covered.

This is me; I have never been able to find a boot that fits me
Does the Target tunic come in plus sizes? I tried it last year in an XXL and it didn't fit. I'm not loving all of this Ava & Viv polyester stuff at Target. Why can't they just make Merona cotton stuff (tunics, cardigans, etc) in plus sizes and sell them in stores??
OP last year I found some flowy thermal weight cardigans at Kohls. I lived in those with my leggings on weekends. I wore a loose, longer tee shirt and then the cardigan over the whole thing. Very comfy, but not necessarily work wear. I'm still looking for tops to wear to work with my leggings that don't make me look 7 months pregnant.
My lularoe tall and curvy fit well and I have big calves. If you want to try a pair (I am not being pushy I just love them), I'll refund you your $ if they don't work for you and you can just give them to someone else and share the lulalove. I can't promise plain black, though! Those are hard to find.
I don't "go" here, but saw this thread and wanted to respond.
I am a size 24 and LOVE my Torrid leggings. I have bought pairs from there the last three winters, and they are super comfortable. Not tight around the calves, they don't roll down at the waist, they are a nice, thick material, and they are not pricey. They also hold up extremely well.
I also have the boots that Merida posted and really like them.

That is so nice of you! I'm not sure I'm brave enough for patterns yet. But if i can get black (of any brand!) to work, I will order some to try out!
These are the best wide calf boots I've found. I think the calf measures around 17.5" if I remember right. They are so comfortable and the leather is thick so they stand on their own when they aren't on (I prefer the non-slouchy look on myself).

I am seriously waiting at the edge of my seat about your damn leggings! Please!!!!!!! Lol. I want a pair so bad. When are you going to post them?! I haven't bought any lularoe - I joined a party thru Brie but I couldn't pull the trigger on any of the patterns in the sizes they had. I am ready now though!
I have NINE boxes coming this week! I have my open house launch this weekend then Brie is having an online pop-up. I have held off in scheduling it because the tall&curvys are on back order and I want to make sure I have them for you guys!

So how does it work, do I have to wait for Brie's pop up then? Assuming she'll invite me.
You wore me down! I'll message you when I get my shipment.
