I mentioned previously that I had been approved as a surrogate/gestational carrier and that the agency had a couple for me to review. I met the couple and we get along so well, and are moving forward! We all got approved by the psychologist yesterday, and I should be meeting with the fertility doctor soon, and they'll begin the search for a donor egg. So excited!
Vent: because of the massive amount of rain we're having (I'm in NC), we've had a lot of ants coming in our house. They're so annoying! We can't spray outside because of the incessant rain. I've tried to do stuff inside but I can't figure out where they're getting in. They've slowed way down, but if I miss one crumb they swarm out of nowhere. Ugh.
Oh (full of stuff to say today!), our thermostat seems to have a crack in the side of it where the batteries meet up with the metal part (I'm not technical). So, it fades in and out, and we think we likely need a new one. Doesn't seem like its something that can be fixed. I really want a Nest thermostat. Any thoughts? I would like one that if the temp gets too low it turns on the heat, and too high, the air. Currently, I have to flip a switch from heat to air.
Laid in bed listening to the rain for the last couple hours. So peaceful.
Now, I'm scrabbling to get ready for church, then stop by a maker faire, and then post up at my neighborhood pub for the game. Best part...my little pup gets to come with me everywhere.
Oh and I use the word "lover" to describe someone who is my lover, but not a boyfriend, and far more important than a booty call.
Now I'm jumping on the treadmill and I'm going to start studying. I'm really sad that I never thought of studying on the treadmill during my past exams. Imagine how skinny I could have been by now!
DH put some pork and apple thing in the crock pot for supper. I felted some hats, which are now drying upstairs, and now I plan on embellishing some felted hats I made a little while ago. And we have football on TV.
Fun fall day - comfort food, wool works and football!

On FB though?
I left my poor H alone to deal with the hurricane while I'm out of town and now he's having to boil water. :/
Yes. But in my defense I've been calling men I date lover for years.
I've been single for almost 6 years, as in no boyfriend/committed relationship. I've had a handful of lovers though who are around roughly a year and are affectionately called "lover".
I'm a very nick namey person. Everyone in my life has a nickname.
Eta - I do see why it bothers people. For me it's become a mechanism for classifying an individual who isn't my boyfriend. Which apparently in my world is something that needs to be distinguished. Also, I haven't used the term much since moving, but I have only dated one person in that time. Yikes.
Sometimes, I call my husband "lover" or "my lover" (the former to his face, the latter usually in writing when I'm being cheeky). But I don't have FB, so I'm good to go .
I really miss Suze! This random thought brought to you as a result of deleting old series recordings from the DVR. Fare thee well, Suburgatory. I only knew you for a season, but it was nice, Betrayal! We had a great run, Boardwalk Empire . Au revoir, The Game! I couldn't bring myself to delete Mad Men and I got sad thinking about deleting Downton Abbey next year. Super easy deleting H's True Blood entry, however lol.
Someone really should do laundry today. I hope it doesn't end up being me...

I got some cleaning done, and I'm making chicken soup for dinner with pumpkin bars and apple cider for desert. Perfect for the chilly, gloomy weather. My house feels so cozy.

This makes me kinda jealous. I miss rainy days. Lol. Plus we just got out of the pool. It's still 90 out but night temps have brought the water temperature down to 74 and after being so stupid hot since June it feels cold to my old ass. I can remember swimming in the Midwest as a kid while my parents had coats on. Now I'm all nope, too cold. Done.

Pom I'm sure we will have at least a few more hot weeks, so I'm enjoying this while I can. Around this time last year, I was sweating my butt off in boots and a sweater at the state fair because I wanted it to be fall already!

I ran a half marathon this morning. My cousin (the aforementioned one who showed up of Thursday) decided to join me for part of it, which is great except he is much faster than I am AND so damn optimistic.
After a week of working latw, a lot of driving and a lot of stress (and a whole lotta hurt from running a whole mess of hills), I was ready to scream.
My cold black heart had NO room to be gracious/patient/thankful/a good sport about someone teasing me after mile 11.
Winnie, my husband and I all took a nap together this afternoon and it was the sweetest; she slept in the curve of my neck, though she did face her butt towards me.
We are seeing so much progress with her behavior. I can't wait to show her off when my mom and sister fly in next weekend.
