I used to always wear low rise/very low rise but lately I've noticed mid rise seems to be more popular/common?
I like the IDEA of mid rise, I hate how with low rise everything just hangs out over it so if you are bloated it's just all hanging out there lol.
but I feel like with mid rise they fall down? I've tried on a number of pairs now and if they fit ok then I walk around and they feel like they are sort of falling down. But if I try smaller it's too tight and uncomfortable in the waist.

I think we are the same height and I really like the short length midrise skinny jeans from express. They are the only ones I've liked recently. I also like midrise skinny pants from American eagle that come in lots of colors (I just order them online in short length). I'm wearing the olive ones today and I also have dark forest green.
I think if you are petite the midrise can be too big sometimes and feels baggy and like you always have to pull them up (hello Gap jeans).
Yeah, jeans are so uncomfortable for me now. I look like I'm wearing a tire around my stomach and low rise are too low (aka crack kills), mid rise cut my muffin top in two, and high rise I kind of feel like a stuffed sausage. Oy.
Lol this is me.
My stomach and my legs are vastly different sizes in jeans, and I don't have small legs.
Mid-rise is my least favorite since it hits right at the fat spot. There has to be a lot of give in the waistband - preferably elastic waist. lol
I don't really like low anymore either b/c it's unflattering. I tried on some high rise recently, and it was better than I thought it would be.
yes they hit a bad spot but then if they have give in the waist/are comfy where they hit, they keep falling down and I have to hitch them up. But a smaller size cuts into my waist! aaah.
but then low rise is uncomfortable too
basically I just want my pre child body back but I also want to keep my kids
I've been buying mid to high lately. They keep everything contained so much better. My biggest issue is bloat certain times of the month and it seems to hide it better/lessen it. Maybe it's all in my head.
Plus I feel like they fit my body shape better. I am pear shaped, so my biggest issue is pants that fit my thighs and hips tend to be too big in the waist. The higher rise don't seem to have that issue for me.
Usually I opt for mid-rise but I'm a recent convert to AE jeans and I find I really like the low-rise there. I used to go mid-rise because low would just slide right off me (I carry my weight in my tummy but my hips are pretty narrow), low in AE stays on and (I think) looks good.
