What are your BIG goals? I'm talking like ultimate career goals? Early retirement? World traveler? What are BIG things you want to accomplish? This can be for you/spouse/family/whatever.
DH has always been interested in blacksmithing. He did it some before we were together but was working at a friend's house and friend moved so he no longer had access to a shop.
Anyway, that's why we are building a shop. DH is planning to start blacksmithing again. He has been buying what equipment he could for the last few years.
So our ultimate goals are for DH to start blacksmithing and start our own business so he can custom make/sell goods. We want to be self-employed and have a home based business. That is our biggest goal and focus right now. We also eventually hope to buy a lot of land and build a custom house out in the country.
I want to travel everywhere we possibly can. We just can't really afford it, haha.
In order to afford it, I want to pay off our debts as fast as possible. Thanks to a lot of you ladies, I'm starting to see our other debts as like a CC. My coworker today was telling me about the issues she had with CCs, especially after her divorce. Her CC that had a $2k limit and wasn't quite maxed out ended up costing her over $5k because of some shady practices by the CC company and her only making minimum payments. That really solidified my stance on carrying a balance on our CC except in an emergency situation.
Someday I want to buy a brand new car.
I want to move closer to my family and buy or build a "dream" home (obviously not a TRUE dream because I'm also realistic, lol).
-I'm going to steal estrellita : Someday we also want a brand new car. lol. So dumb, but since we're the "pay cash only" for our cars type of people, it hasn't happened yet.
-Start my own non-profit or become the ED for one whose mission already is similar to what I would otherwise start.
-Accomplish the items on my bucket list (one of the most notable is to visit all 50 states)
-Write another book someday, even if I don't publish it.
-I'd love my husband to advance to CTO (his long term career goal) but that one is really luck driven as opposed to just hard work. I won't be upset if it never happens. If he meets our long term salary goal at any position, that is just as good
-My H wants to retire by 40, but I'm not really up for the type of sacrifice that would take. So I'm mentioning this as his goal, not mine.
I/we have a lot of big goals but here are a few: - Create our dream home. We would love to build from bottom up. - Retire by age 50/55 - Travel the world - Complete at least 60% of my bucket list since there are ALOT of things on it I don't plan on finishing it. (Being realistic here even though it would be incredible to check off every single thing)
This one is vain but I would LOVE electrolysis for hair removal, basically everywhere lol! I do plan on starting this process within the next couple years.
My biggest goal is financial. I am looking forward to eventually paying off my private student loans. My federal ones will be forgiven after 10 years of payments, if that program is still around then! I made many mistakes in college and my first time in grad school regarding borrowing. Thinking about the balance makes me sick.
I'd like to own a home in this one particular suburban neighborhood. It has an amazing business district that is walkable to pretty much the whole neighborhood. It's a super expensive area though so it will be awhile before we can afford it!
I'd also like to travel more. We haven't done enough traveling around the US. I also want to go to Iceland and then a few other European countries.
Own a "forever" home Visit all 50 states Visit baseball stadiums in every city and keep visiting new ones (they keep building new ones so I'll never have gone to them ALL) Just travel in general both domestically and abroad
suzv I'm envious of you knowing exactly where you want to ideally live someday. I have a lot of ideas and hopes for the location of our forever home, but I don't know where that is yet. Knowing the prices of your dream area is so useful
