I'm planning on getting the kids one for their 1st birthday and was thinking of getting a KidKraft one. I was looking at the description and there was a warning for small parts so not recommended for kids under 3. Do I really need to worry about the small pieces? It sounds like a lot of you got your kids kitchens around this age, what do you recommend?
I plan to ask for one for Christmas as well. My mom has one she got from a friend. It doesn't have any accessories and the kids love to stand and bang on it. I think it will be awhile before they actually play with the food and other items.

We have the Kidkraft Vintage one. I can't think of any small parts on it other than the oven knobs. I also really like the Ikea kitchen and Hape kitchen too.

I made one for my niece and nephew when they were 13 months (Christmas) and they loved it then and still love it now at almost 3 (and I anticipate it being used for a few more years). We just gave them things like empty pasta boxes and yogurt containers at first, worked great!
We have the Hape kitchen and fridge and I really like it. I would definitely recommend it.
I really wish we had this one. I love our other Hape stuff & I think M would have gone nuts over the working ice maker.
OP, we have a KidKraft Vintage. It's fine too - lots of storage for his play food & dishes. We gave it to him at 2yo, no issues or concerns with small parts/choking hazards.
Thanks ladies, the Hape one is so adorable, I'll look into that one more.
I was going back and forth about giving it to them for their birthday or Christmas but think I'm going to do it for their birthday as we'll be away for Christmas.
My inlaws got my girls the pottery barn 3 piece set and we love it. I don't think I would have paid that much, but it has held up really well in have no doubt that DD3 will get years of use out of it as well.

We just bought the IKEA one for DD's birthday. She loves it, and I love it because it's really sturdy and I just prefer the look of it over the non-wooden kitchens.
