Dishes are done and kitchen is clean. Upstairs play area is clean. I am trying to talk myself out of cleaning the family room play area but I can't do it!!! Why do I suddenly feel motivated?? Carpe diem and crap, I guess.
Sometimes I love cleaning when I can. There's something nice about being able to GET SHIT DONE without kids around lol.
A-fucking-men.
ETA: basement playroom is done. Now our laundry to put away. Not hard to do chores when I can watch tv at the same time.

Yes! I've been known to scrub bathtubs at 3am because it's quiet I can think and it takes half the time.
My kids both went to bed early tonight and I just picked up a bunch of sh*t and am about to mop floors. I wanted to do something fun...but I have time to clean in peace right now!
I usually turn a show on and that makes it more "fun."
I decided starting tomorrow I'm cutting out gluten for a few weeks to see if it helps my rheumatoid arthritis. So today I am binge eating all the gluten. Had pancakes and a bagel for breakfast and ate the leftovers for lunch. Next up: Thai food!

H just called on his way home from SS' conferences to tell me he got a good report on most accounts. And apparently SS decided to join the choir. I always hoped that at least one kid of mine would be musical in some way. SS has never seemed interested, so I have no clue what prompted it, but it's cool either way!

I'm reading Self magazine in bed and just had to share this quote from Kerry Washington, about her post-baby body:
"A few weeks ago, my manager asked: 'Do you feel like you're back? I feel like you're back.' She meant it as a total compliment, but we had this great conversation where I was like, 'You know what? I try really hard not to use that language, because it's not about going backward in life.' I think it comes from this culture of antiaging, which is so not loving to ourselves. I've been really focused on not being 'back' to anything, but being the best version of myself right now. My body is the site of a miracle now. I don't want to be pre-miracle."
Omg we tried to get Bas to point one finger tonight and it was hilarious. Like he kind of needed to really concentrate and open and close his hand multiple times before just one finger was pointing.
I've been trying to teach DS to hold up two fingers when I ask how old he's going to be. It's hilarious. The tongue hangs out and he nearly goes cross eyed from concentrating.
Note to self: must get that on video before he masters it.
Dinner was good and then DH and I got into a heated argument over snow boots. Argh. DS was in the room and was mimicking us at certain points. So we cooled it and now all is fine. Because really, snow boots.
Tomorrow we are having fancy dinner and going to The Martian!! It's been a long time since I saw a movie.
DH comes home tonight! I have never been so excited to see him. I have to tidy up the house and I think I am going to change the sheets on our bed.
Also I just made a BALT sandwich for dinner and put some leftover rotisserie chicken in it. SO good. All it was missing was sourdough bread. I used a sandwich thin instead so that I can save some room for ice cream.
I ordered Christmas cards today- there were good promo codes floating around, so I just went for it. In my defense, I won't send them out until after Thanksgiving.
Go you! Last year I remember ordering them around my birthday (9/26) and I know I had them back well before Halloween. I had the pictures and like you I found a deal and just went for it. I sent them out a week before Thanksgiving because they also served as our moving announcements with our new address on them and I wanted people to get them before they started sending their own cards out around Thanksgiving.
This year I'll order them as soon as I get them back from our photographer so it should be in just a couple weeks. If it's one more thing I can get done ahead of time then I think it makes total sense!

The first rule of Baby Sleep Club is do not talk about Baby Sleep Club! After I claimed DD was sleeping better, bedtime was an hour and 15 minute ordeal.
She's down now though and DW should be back soon with Five Guys.
DS2 has pneumonia and a double ear infection. And maybe a touch of croup. He sounds terrible and I'm on constant edge that he's going to cough till he throws up. Fx the antibiotics kick in soon, I have a feeling tonight is going to suck.
Aww poor little guy DS has had pneumonia a couple times, the antibiotics usually help very quickly. He's improved in a day and much better by 2.
I have hours of work to do tonight and I don't WANNA. On the bright side, I am off tomorrow. I totally forgot I asked a friend to take our pictures Saturday so I have to get an eyebrow wax and buy a new top.
As of next week, we are short-staffed three people on my team (so two people doing five people's jobs) and I'm afraid I'm going to be living at work and crying every night starting Monday. That also means I am interviewing for three positions and that is taking too much of the time needed to do all the work!
We were putting a puzzle together and I asked him where the pig was. He picked it up and I said "what sound does a pig make?" and he goes "Yummmm!" Total coincidence but hilarious.
Then he picked out Brown Bear Brown Bear to read before bed. He pointed to the cover and said Dada. (My H usually has a beard.) Ha!
So DD didn't nap well at at this morning when she was with my mom. So she's basically been sleeping, waking up to eat and poop since 130pm and it's now almost 730pm. I'm worried for tonight. I need her to wake up soon and have a nice long awake period before we go to bed at 10pm.
This is my third kid and I've never had a baby be this sleepy for so long. I feel like at 6 weeks she should be awake a bit more now.
I bought a bag of mini Snickers' bars today and have inhaled maybe half of it already. As I was nursing DS before bed tonight, I thought of the Brazilian BFing shame campaign and how many little Snickers bars were going into DS's mouth as he drank breast milk...
I can't get the picture of the baby eating the cheeseburger out of my mind.
But it looked like a delicious burger! Likewise, my DS doesn't have enough teeth to dig into a Snickers bar yet, so I need to do my part to bring him some of that goodness.
I'm pumping and then heading to bed. After the kids were in bed, we packed for our trip to my brothers wedding in Chicago this weekend. So much to think about when traveling with two kids, especially when one of them is 7 weeks old. Hopefully it won't be too much of a cluster getting through security at the airport tomorrow morning!
