We had plans to get together with friends who we haven't seen in far too long tomorrow evening. DS2 was just whining in bed. It was uncharacteristic of him & I'm home alone anyway, so I went in & snuggled with him. A few minutes passed, he said, "ow" and grabbed the back of his leg/butt. Then laid back on my shoulder and puked all over me.
I guess it'll be awhile longer before we see them.
Whew. Kids finally in bed after a 2 drink playdate (I think I found my mommy soul mate) and a trip to In N Out with 4 kids 5 and under. By the end of it, I am not exaggerating in the slightest, I was freely telling the people around us that we were there to serve as birth control to young people everywhere. Wrap it up, kids, or you'll end up on this crazy train.
The kids don't have school tomorrow so their school carnival was tonight. It ended with crying children with messed up face paint. Only one wearing shoes.
omg my sister is now trying to tell me that she can't find any place to make the "right" star cookies for her baby shower. They are fucking stars, not intricate pieces of artwork. I'm pretty sure any bakery can making star cookies FFS.
I can make star cookies FFS. I cook. Well. I DO NOT bake anything more than boxed brownies and the occassional choc. chip cookie save for Christmas where we make stars and trees because that's all I can successfully handle! They're the same no matter which cookie cutter you use.
I went shopping for maternity clothes. Uggggggh. At least I remembered that I have to size up in everything (unlike every pregnant lady ever lol) so everything was the right size, if hideous.
I bought leggings and a couple of tunics and I'm going to live in them. Except one is the same one as a girl at work (but pink where hers is green) so we're going to have to coordinate lol. Hmm, maybe we can go as twins for Halloween.
Do you all have access to Gap Maternity in Canada? I was able to pick up a great pair of jeans, moto pants, and a couple of tops for very good prices this pregnancy. In store prices are better and it is nice to be able to try everything on. The last pregnancy I think I pretty much wore the same pair of leggings.
We are flying with DD (14 months) Sunday morning. Tonight I went to wal mart to stock up on stuff to try and survive this. I spent $134.00 because at this point throwing money at it is all I can do. We also got our inspection back on the house we're trying to sell. DH is pleased with it, but it seems like they want us to fix so much! He's confident and has several contractor friends who can help so that's nice. We both so badly want this deal to work out, but we're losing an obscene amount of money (for us) and the thought of having to spend more is awful.
DS2 has pneumonia and a double ear infection. And maybe a touch of croup. He sounds terrible and I'm on constant edge that he's going to cough till he throws up. Fx the antibiotics kick in soon, I have a feeling tonight is going to suck.
Feel better hollyDS2!
DD had the same combination of yuck last winter. It was a week before she thought about getting off the couch and a good month before she was 100%. I still don't think she is sometimes. She seems to get sick so much faster now and still has a cough at night.
H and I are actually discussing making an appt. with her pedi to rule out allergies or other respiratory issues because she still wheezes at night.

Gah, all of this is just the worst. My DH was the most sickly kid, had pneumonia dozens of times, almost died of it in his 20s. My mil likes to tell stories where he'd go down for a nap fine and wake up with full blown pneumonia. And I feel like we dodged a bullet with our first two kids and now our youngest, definitely his father's son.
He was diagnosed with RAD and hospitalized for it last spring, hoping it was a fluke over reaction to a virus. We were having asthmatic events where we're reaching for the inhaler about once a month till we started a daily inhaled steroid this summer. We had him tested for allergies, DH is allergic to everything. And he came back with totally normal results. Then we had his adenoids X-rayed. Yup, normal. So I got lazy with the preventative stuff since he fights me to the death with it and the first little cough his sister brings home from kindergarten, now he has pneumonia.
Can I just get his tonsils/adenoids out now lol? If that's the root of all of DH's issues, I just want to skip to the end point.

Aww poor little guy DS has had pneumonia a couple times, the antibiotics usually help very quickly. He's improved in a day and much better by 2.
Thank you for this! The pedi made it seem like it would be days till he felt better with antibiotics. He's two doses in, here's hoping he starts perking up soon.

oh ish. Feel better baby and take care of yourself too. I thought I remember you saying he really struggled with respiratory stuff prior. It's so hard. My kids are generally pretty healthy but they're not ones to throw up in a one off and be better 12 hours later. They have immune systems of steel for that stuff, but when they get sick, it's full blown sick.
I left the house alone today and left DD with my husband for 45 mins and went to Starbucks. I felt guilty the whole time and texted him twice. But I needed it.
I'm seeing a LC in the morning tomorrow and I'm hoping I can get some tips for my overactive letdown as well as how to save my nipples.
I just saw one today for over active let down. Let's chat tomorrow and exchange tips?
Eta - and good for you for going to Starbucks. It's really hard to leave baby for th first time!
They just cancelled my appointment and since Monday is a holiday they can't get me in until Tuesday. I cried.
