I just thought he was all about being practical. Like when the other kids were all "this box is a rocket ship!" and he's like "it's a box. Says so right here in my book, box."

Can you give a spectrum example?
That is one. Pretend play is often delayed in or difficult for ASD kids.

Yeah that's not typical being over literal is an ASD trait. He also freaks a bit with loud noises (hammering episode) and some other things. I assume they are writing light traits to normalize it without making a specific label since a) it's a broad spectrum b) they want the kids to just see it as a different kind of normal
O lives with his uncle X, right? and they live in the tree house with Katerina and her mom? Are X and the cat mom a couple?
Are O's parents ever mentioned?
I think the official story is that it's a treehouse duplex (two separate residences), but who's to say what is happening after bedtime? Cross-species relationships: the seedy underbelly of DT's Neighborhood.

DS1 is obsessed with the recent new episode about the big storm and emergency plan. So if the premise of the story is that they have to move from the treehouse during the storm in order to be safe, why is Daniel's house on Jungle Beach the better choice? Why the hell isn't King Friday sheltering his citizens in his big ass castle?
I'm just waiting for the episode when the citizenry rise up against the oppression of the royal family.

But they helped to clean up the playground!
As far s O being on the spectrum, I don't know if they are intentionally trying to write the character that way or not. I DO think they are probably just trying to be inclusive of different types of kids, so that if a kid is like O, he might identify with the character and understand that it's okay to be like that.
