Do you feed your kid grapes? I just remembered that grapes can cause kidney failure in dogs, and M throws TONS of food. So I don't know how to safely feed him grapes without putting Biscuit in another room. Biscuit is a Velcro dog, so I'm not even sure it's worth the hassle. Wwyd?

Yes, they're my kid's favorite. We supervise him when he has them and reiterate each time that he can't share with the dogs because it's very bad for them and can make them sick. So far it's been fine. And at this age, M is quite protective of his food.
Yes, but we usually put the dog on the other side of the baby gate. I also don't typically give her more than five grapes in a sitting, so I'm not to stressed if the dog manages to eat one or two.
I give her grapes. I try to intercept them if they fall on the floor, but I don't stress about 1 or 2. Especially since my dog just ate a 1/4 bag of almonds the other night and nothing happened other than he popped almonds for several days.
No. Our dog accidentally ate a box of raisins while there was a house sitter and had to go to the ICU where he was on a kidney flush for 24 hours plus charcoal something and they pumped his stomach. After that we don't allow any grapes/raisins in the house. She eats them outside of the house though.
Our dog is a Velcro dog too. We "trained" her to lay on the rug about 10 ft away from the kitchen table through using treats and gating her downstairs if she didn't stay. She is allowed to get up when the kids are out of their seats. That gives us ample time to clean up any non dog friendly items before she does her cleaning under their chairs.
She wants/needs to be able to see her kids so this seemed to work best.

Yes, but as a toddler, DS wasn't really into throwing food. Now that he's older, we stress that the dogs CANNOT have grapes, so if he happens to drop one, he yells, "No Carl! No Reese! No grapes!"
Yes. Every time we give DD grapes or raisins we stress that she cannot give any to the dog because it will give her very bad ouchies. For a while I would put our dog in the bedroom while DD ate them when I was worried she would throw them. Now she is past that stage and I trust her not to do that anymore so we don't have to separate them.

Yes, but I watch him like a hawk If he has grapes. The newest, greatest thing during mealtimes is feeding the dog from his hand. He loves when she licks his fingers. But, our dog is so respondent to a firm "uh, uh, no!" that she hasn't had a grape yet. Raisins are harder to watch because those things are so tiny!
I waited until she was old enough to not throw food before giving her grapes at home. She still mainly eats them at school. I just remind her every time that they are not safe for the dogs and monitor everyone while she eats them.
I don't have a dog, but when I give DD grapes I give them to her in this wide green froggy bowl from Ikea and still cut them up. Even if she drops them while trying to pick them up, they still land in the bowl and cling to the bowl if she tries to carry it. Grapes are one of the few snacks that don't fall all over the place for DD. That could be an option.
Bad dog owner checking in I guess. I do give grapes. Occasionally the dog will snatch up 2 or 3 grape halves (1-1.5 grapes total). I don't worry about it because he is 70 lbs.
We don't do raisins though. Once dd1 left some out and he got ahold of them and we had to take him in for observation and blood work. All was fine but I just buy Craisins now.
(Also, I've seen so many dogs gain way too much weight once they start cleaning up after kids, and I don't want to deal with that.)
Yeah, Biscuit is getting fat. We may need to keep him away from the highchair.
Our vet said the dog has gained 7 lbs in the last 2-3 years so basically the time we have had a kid!! We are working hard to keep the table scraps at bay.
