I'm with you on this. It is so hard to plan and no matter what time I plan for it inevitably coincides with a pump, and my house is a mess like 5 minutes after hurricane H awakens for the day, and honestly, I'm usually just tired and not feeling it lol. Unless it's my parents or BFF, they're welcome whenever haha.
With very few exceptions I pretty much hate all visitors right now.
My sister is the only visitor where I felt like I could relax. She was more helpful than our other visitors combined!
This is how my sisters are too. The bring food and play with the kids and let me nap. And when I'm sick of them I can tell them and they go away. And when I want them to come back and do it all again for me, they do that too.
My parents are coming this week. I'm kind of dreading it. They are not staying with us, but I doubt we'll get many breaks from them. I treasure my solitude. And the freedom to bare my boobs.
My MIL is going to be here for 6 days after I get back from the hospital. But FIL will not be here and my husband will. I am hoping I can just use this to my advantage and spend the time recovering.
Luckily MIL is really introverted and tries to be helpful. My main issue with her is she never leaves the house but since DH will be on leave too he can just take me away as needed.
You have another child to keep them occupied.
Eta- Don't mean to at least you, but I was thinking how I would handle your situation. I would totally play up special time with grandma and have her run around with DD1.

I only liked visitors who would put an enormous amount of energy into making sure DD was entertained right after DS was born, preferably in the playroom in the basement so there was no chance that she was going to see me and demand that I play, too. Actually, I still vastly prefer that kind of visitor...

Visitors were stressful for me, too. Next time I definitely will put the kabosh on who can stop by. Although for that amount of $$ I would probably suck it up.
This is why I'm glad we don't know many people here. We had so many people come by after my daughter was born and it really stressed me out. Newborns are too unpredictable and I'm too tired. We have family coming to visit tomorrow that I can't stand and it has been ruining my weekend trying to clean for them.

The boobs will come in handy when you need to escape 'I'd love to chat but I have to go feed her'. Then hide out in your room til you have the strength to deal with them again. I used that one a lot with my parents,

Poor H without the boobs.
Whatever man. MH got to go to work while my parents were visiting and get a 10 hour break. He gets no sympathy from me.
