So I always nurse P to sleep and then he falls asleep and I put him down.
We are doing TG dinner and our timing for stuff is off. He doesn't need to nurse but needs to sleep. So DH takes him upstairs and walks with him, he screams and screams. I finally come upstairs, he hits my arms and stops crying. I presumed he would want to nurse. Nope, he's out.
Is it just my smell???
How the fuck did we let this happen? I feel so trapped.

I think it's just a smell and familiarity thing. DD is totally the same way. Even when she's not hungry she still falls asleep easiest for me. She's only 6 weeks though.
DH was never good at putting the kids down for naps until they were over a year old for some reason.
We have similar problems. I think for us it's more of a Pavolv's dog thing since I'm always the one to put him down lately. I don't think he associates sleep with DH anymore :/
Ugh, yes. This is a thing. It's home base for babies and is comforting. You, the position, and the smell. I liked it as an excuse to get away from things and chill in silence, esp around the holidays.
DH can only get DS to sleep if I'm not home. If I'm there, it's like he can smell me down the hall and freaks out. The only exception is occasional MOTN wake ups, which DH has been consistently dealing with for a few months. But bedtime and naps? I have to be far, far away.
Normal. This is why when we started using a lovey I slept with it in my tank for a couple nights so it would smell like me. And I used it while nursing and cuddling so it would be familiar.
DS just started pulling this shit a week or so ago with DH. I try to sit next to them and it sorta helps. I have a conference in a month so I'm nervous it's gonna be bad for them
