I have a Playtex basket that you add water to and nuke, have also used the microwave bags. I use the dishwasher if I'm about to run it and have bottles to clean. Mostly I hand wash them because we go through them so often. I really just like the sanitizers because we use Dr. Brown's and I like to get those small parts extra clean every so often. If I use the dishwasher I put the nipple and small parts in the utensil holders, and the bottles and nipple collars on the rack for glasses.
Is there a reason you need to sanitize? After the first month or so we just put bottles in a normal dishwasher load and called it good (or washed by hand with hot water and soap). We didn't have thrush issues though.
I only sanitized when they were new. Otherwise they were just washed with super hot soapy water... or every once in a while through the dishwasher, which I assume gets hot enough to sanitize...

Never did, just used soap & water. I typically washed pump stuff by hand b/c the dishwasher was hard on little delicate pieces and had trouble cleaning bottles. We used drop in liners for bottles (so easy!)
It's really not necessary unless your baby has a compromised immune system or something.
Orrrrrr, you get thrush. Which I would not wish on my worst enemy.
Thrush sanitizer checking in. I didn't mind the hours of my life lost while sanitizing the hell out of everything, it made me feel like I had more control over something I clearly had no control over. (I had thrush three times!)
That said, I did end up just ditching a lot of pacifiers and bottles and just starting over with new stuff at some point. (Again, likely a control thing.)
