Because all of the hotels are sold out!!! GR. Maybe we will need to switch our dates but I really don't want to do that because DD1 has off school on the 26th. I've looked online but there are so many events I can't figure out which is the culprit.
I don't think there will be huge crowds everywhere, I have no idea this happens every year and I live in Atlanta. If you want to look for some hotels and post on here we can tell you if it is a good area.
What are you wanting to do in ATL? There are a couple of hotels right by Perimeter Mall that has a Marta station if you need to get downtown.
Zoo, aquarium mostly
Aquarium shouldn't be an issue on Marta. There is not direct access to the Zoo via Marta unless you take a bus from the Marta station. If your kids like the idea of Marta it may be fun, if not, it will just add to your commute time back and forth.
There is a Legoland at Phipps Plaza - not sure if you are interested and how old your kids are. There is a fantastic park not far from Perimeter Mall if you want to let your kids run around for awhile - Brook Run Park. Kid friendly burger joint called Farm Burger which we go to on a weekly basis.
There are so many amazing things to do with kids here that I think you could find stuff to do aside from the zoo and aquarium unless your heart is set on those two things. And you really do need a car to get to the zoo anyway. Nor would you want to stay near the zoo.

What other areas should I look at? Everything I see that is somewhat close is booked. Airport? near six flags? How far of a drive is that?
I'd try for north of the city vs. airport or Six Flags. Dunwoody, Sandy Springs. Maybe Decatur. There's a nice Marriott right off of 85. Marriott Century Center. Not sure if you have a car or not.
ty.. booked though. I give up. I think we need to go for another weekend.

Do not stay near Six Flags. Airport is fine, but wouldn't be my first choice.

Thank you!! So for example the Hilton, Atlanta Perimeter, how far of a drive is that to the aquarium or zoo if we choose to do one of those?

Without traffic both would take about 20-25 minutes (the zoo would take closer to 25, aquarium probably 20). It's a safe, nice area, near a big mall, lots of restaurants, not far from buckhead and midtown.

The Galleria may be a touch closer, but I would probably choose the Perimeter over Galleria. Although truthfully they are both fine!
