I think the black light has finally gone out on my tv. Did not expect this today. Anyone know about TVs? I don't want something big, Like 36-40 inches. Do I want a smart tv? Ugh!!!

I would definitely get a smart TV - DH and I (and the kids) watch like 80-90% of our stuff online now - not in real time on TV (sports excluded). I would also just go to Costco if you're a member. They have a great selection, a great return policy if something goes wrong, and I wouldn't have to stress.
The other place that has good customer service and matches prices is Best Buy, but we don't have one in our town.
I am very happy with it and I really like the smart TV options and it has a great picture. We usually get our electronics at Costco since they are cheaper and they are great about returns and exchanges if we need to go that route.
I just bought a samsung led smart tv. It's awesome. It takes a few minutes to pull up the app but it's so worth it to only have one plug. (We don't have cable) I love that I can watch netflix, hulu, amazon prime, youtube and listen to pandora on it. We found our TV on slickdeals.net and it came with an xbox1 with all the halo games. for $300 bucks for both it was a steal.
We just researched and picked out a new TV but bigger than you are looking for. Costco usually had better prices than Amazon plus a free 2-year warranty. We chose a Vizio and we are happy with it so far.
You can get either:
1) Get a dumb TV and plan to buy a device like Apple TV or a Roku to do streaming stuff.
2) Buy a Smart TV which has built in internet capability to do streaming stuff. Smart TV's are by far the most common option on store shelves.
Thanks everyone! And I should have mentioned that I have a blue-ray player with internet/wi-fi so a smart tv isn't essential, but definitely an option to consider

We got a Vizio smart tv at Costco after our Samsung died after 3 years. We are very happy with it and it's been a year. The smart tv version was only $40 more.
