I do truly enjoy watching both college and NFL. I grew up in a football city with parents who could take it or leave (except for those 4 yrs in a row when we lost the SuperBowl). Now I'm in a different city and have a husband who loves it, too.

Love it. I started picking it up in high school while in marching band/kick line. My mom was a huge fan who knew a bit about the lineups/strategy. DH played in high school and has taught me more. I know NFL far better (I am an Eagles fan, DH loves the Giants, it gets fun sometimes). Only started vaguely following college when DH and I got together; ND is our one shared team. But my uni didn't have a football team, and I still don't really get the different leagues, rankings, bowls etc.
Not even a tiny bit. My dad and brother watched (and talked about) college and pro football a ton while I was growing up, so I understand it, I just don't enjoy it. I don't even think you even have to funny understand a sport to enjoy it. I enjoy going to hockey games, and I don't really know the rules in detail.
Why do you want to love it? To fit in with football crowds? Not worth it. Do the things you love with people who also love them.

I hate it. I really do. There are other sports that I don't mind watching, especially live (basketball, occasionally baseball, tennis lol). But I have never ever enjoyed football.
I've gone to a few college games, and that was a little more exciting than watching on TV but I got bored halfway through. If H has a game on, I am doing something else like reading or messing around online.

I used to be really into college football, but it was mostly about the socializing I think. Now that its difficult to watch the games becase of the time difference and I definitely can't pop over to a friend's tailgate I have pretty much lost all interest. I might check scores on Sunday morning, but that's all.
