Your DH is pretty neutral so I['m not too worried about that. But I agree about the color of your dress vs the pink in your DDs outfit. They don't look horrible together but they aren't that cohesive either.
I like it. Not matchy-matchy, but complementary. How do you feel in the dress? That's the most important part. If you feel awesome, wear it. Toddler will look adorable no matter what. How your H feels, that's just gravy.
I should have mentioned that the purple of my dress matches the purple of DD's dress IRL. I could go with a different grey for MH.
Oh, if that's the case, then I think it would be very cute. I really wouldn't worry about matching the greys, though. That, for me, puts you into the TOO matchy-match world.
Oh, if the colors in her dress match yours that helps. Could she do purple/maroon/plum (what is that color?!) leggings to match the dress? Or maybe black? I think it's the bright pink in the leggings that is throwing me off.
But I am far from an expert and not so fashionable

I agree with aspentosh - purple tights or leggings for DD. And zarapipe is right, YH's sweater is too dark. I lighter grey would look great. What do you think of this? I added in a button down with purple under his sweater.
Ugh yeah. I'm trying to justify it by the fact that I scored free newborn pics. In some alternate universe, this justification works out.
NB pics are expensive! I think you're justified. Plus, L is little now and that time is fleeting. You can spend less when he's older and changing less rapidly.

I like the dress a lot. I also have this, which might read more purple in photos:
I like the first dress better, personally. Also, now that I read PP's suggestions, I like the idea of cream tights for your DD. But honestly, I think it's a good combo overall. When you all look and feel great, it doesn't matter if the colors aren't perfectly matchy-matchy. We did shades of blue/turquoise in our recent (summery) family pics and they came out really well, although I bet if I posted our outfits beforehand, MMM would have had a conniption.
Honestly, I think what you had originally is fine. It doesn't have to be absolutely matchy matchy, kwim. I usually do exactly what you did, get a cute outfit for the kid and then pull a color out for myself and have DH in something kind of complimentary. I might add a touch of pattern, like a scarf or a button down under the sweater for either you or your DH because a good portion of the photos are b/w and I like a bit of texture in those.
Can't wait to see them! I'm sure you'll all look great!
