We are repainting this weekend and are unsure of our paint choices. Well, I'm unsure. DH thinks they're great - lol.
We have an open floorplan. The kitchen, dining room, and living room are basically one big room, kind of divided out by a large kitchen island.
The kitchen takes up a corner/two walls and is currently painted the green in the picture. The next wall is shared by the dining room and living room, is vaulted, and has a high window in the peak. DH wants to paint it the blue in the picture. The reminder of the room, including a hall and a split-level entry, DH wants to paint the gray in the picture. Trim and flooring in the room is a medium brown wood.
The current plan is to leave the kitchen green and add the blue and gray, though I could be swayed from this plan. Maybe just the blue and gray?
Sorry for the crappy stock photo. It was the only one from the Behr website that I could show all three colors on.
What do you think? Please be brutally honest/kind. I have two left feet when it comes to decorating.
I would nix the blue and do a gray all over. Have you looked at "agreeable gray" or "anew gray"? It's a great neutral gray without being harsh or boring.
I'd worry that your antique tin would look too... dungeon-y.
It's hard to tell whether the color is correct on my screen on not, but it looks like a very bold turquoise. I find colors that bright are generally off-putting as a wall color.
I would just do the grey with the green. Be sure you have a warm grey if it is a warm green on the walls.
We just did a greige in our "great" room (it's not that big) with turquoise accents and i love it (BM Edgecomb grey).
We have SW Refresh (bright turquoise) in DD's room, and it is very bright, but i wouldn't consider that bold a color elsewhere, but I'm definitely a neutral paint with colorful accents type of person.

Too much color for me too. If you're still playing around with colors, look at BM's colors of 2016. If you click on one you like, it will give you some matched palette options. We're looking at the Kittery Point green and the wisteria they have it paired with for the living room (hopefully to be painted next weekend!).
That's too much color for me. I'd get rid of the green completely and just do blue and grey. And I'd do the lighter gray and the lighter blue in that swatch. That turquoise is VERY TURQUOISE. And the gray is too dark for me.
I much prefer for walls to be more neutral and then bring in color with curtains, pillows, furniture, etc.
ditto. We just used SW Light French Gray in our master and I love it, btw!
Yeah, too much bright for my taste - if you're going to keep the green as a color, I'd pick up a coordinating neutral for the rest, and then some brighter wall art/accessories to pull in more color. The green and turquoise together makes me feel like I'm in a children's museum or something.
I'm a hard no on the turquoise, even without the green. Too bright. I would paint accent furniture in that color but not a wall.
I say you go one of two ways:
A) Keep the green and add a neutral gray (like SW Mindful Gray) to the rest of the space. B) Paint the dining/living area a greige or neutral gray and the kitchen a slightly deeper tone. I'm not a personal fan of putting wildly different colors in an open floor plan, so this is my vote.
ETA: Rereading, I see that your floors are brown wood. I would go for a warm greige or warm gray. Can you paint the trim white?

Not a fan of how the green and blue look on my screen. Have you put a sample up on the wall to see what it looks like next to the green, with your lighting, etc?
