What do you mean by your front sidewalk? the city sidewalk that runs in front of your house? Or a walkway from the sidewalk to your house?
I should have specified. My sidewalk, not city. It goes from our driveway to our front door. Its completely our own private property, as is our whole front yard, which they walk across all the time.

No sprinklers here.
The neighbors on either side of us are friendly with each other. They cross through our front yard all the time to visit each other. It usually happens at least once a day. Other times, they'll stand at the bottom of our driveway smoking and talking, leaving their cigarette butts behind.
I feel like I remember you posting about this before - have you ever said anything? Like start with a nice, "Hey, do you guys mind not smoking in front of my house? Thanks, smooches!"
I live on a corner property. When people socialize at the end of or in my driveway, I set off the car alarms. I open the door and say, "Sorry, it is really sensitive. It goes off anytime someone is in the driveway."

Why have you not already opened the door and said something like "Oh....uh, hello everyone. Something I can help you with?" With a mild "wtf?" look on your face.

Excellent. Our cars have that "panic button" on the remote key thing. I would hit that baby every time.

I did open the front door (storm door was still closed) and they scattered right away. I didn't even get the chance to say anything. Maybe they'll get the hint now....
Car alarm is a good idea, however my car was not in the driveway, but across the street. DH had to move it to get out of the driveway this morning. I'll remember that though, in case it happens again.

lol that's so weird of them! Like they don't realize where they're standing until the door opens...why can't they just go to one person's yard or the other instead of meeting in the middle on your freaking lawn?! LOVE the car alarm idea, lol.

I know right? Its not like there is a mile to walk for either of them. Probably 20 or so steps from one side to the other of my yard. Where they were standing it would have been maybe 10 steps to one of their yards.

My neighbors are the same way so I keep my doors open on days that it is cool enough. I had one start crazy loud music today when I had my front door open so I opened the rest of the windows and put my music on. I can't help but think that I'll play your game and with our set-up I'll win.
Or, maybe you should grab a drink and walk out there like you were invited, "sorry I'm late guys, whats going on?"
