This is somewhat old news, but one of my Facebook friends recently posted this, and I was surprised, or maybe not surprised, to see so much venom from other commenters about Monica all these years later.
Anyway, I haven't watched this yet, but will watch it later. I'm on the app, so I can't cut-and-paste.
God I'm so glad I was never in a position to have my poor 22-year-old decisions splashed all over the globe. What she did was obviously not good, but she didn't deserve to have her life destroyed over it.
I'm glad she's speaking out now and I hope she can capitalize on her infamy because it certainly closed a lot of other doors on her.
I said this back when this first came out, but I identified SO much with her - almost the same age, and we were in almost the same situation (though I wasn't giving BJs to a president of anything). But I always hated-hated-hated how she got the brunt of the shit and no one seemed to care about making sure she felt like a slut. Did HRC have a right to be mad at her? Absolutely. But I'm pretty sure it took two to tango. I think it's fantastic that she had the courage to speak up.
