I wonder if his sons death pused it so far out? As in, he was not sure if he had it in him until the debate and then became energized? He is a great debater but enough with old white men. I know that is shallow but I need something different.
It just now struck me how odd it is how we talk about the Dem primary vs. the Republican primary. Like we all assume that they're really all in it together for the good of the party, same team and it's all just this friendly rivalry with behind the scenes camaraderie and sincere well wishes. Whereas the republican primary is a thunderdome fight to the death.
I don't doubt that Biden is going through a very difficult time in grieving his son's death, and that could have shaped his decision making process here in some way.
But let's be real here. This coyness over his decision is pure politics. It's just weather ballooning. He's looking to see if there's an opening.
If this were really about grief, we wouldn't have all this hush hush speculation from unnamed sources and the "decision is coming!!!!!!!!" shit. He'd tell people to SHUT THE FUCK UP, respect his family's privacy, and request that they give him the space he needs to make this kind of decision. He has it in his power to order his aides and confidants to stop spreading rumors.
