NEW YORK (FOX 5 NY) - Sources tell FOX News Senior White House Correspondent Ed Henry that Vice President Joe Biden will enter the presidential race.
There has been heavy speculation that Biden would run for the Democratic nomination. It was unclear, however, if he would be willing to endure the campaign trail following the death of his son earlier this year.
U.S. Rep. Brendan Boyle (D-PA-13) took to social media Monday to say Biden would be running.
Calls within the party for Biden to run have been fueled by concerns over Hillary Rodham Clinton's email controversy and declining popularity. Her strong debate performance last week dampened some of that talk.

I admit I may vote for him but I am wondering why he's going to decide to run NOW, after this first debate showed that the Ds are doing just fine and there is no need to throw another name into the hat.
ETA: Plus, why is that rep even tweeting about this?

See, this is why I wouldn't vote for him, He can't read his own party IMO.
This whole prolonged tease is really pissing me off at this point. Run or don't run, Joe, but I'm fucking sick of hearing about your slow decision-making skills.

Bill O'Reilly loves the idea to add "drama" to the race. He also said a month or so ago, "Biden has been meeting with President Obama, Democratic donors, advisors and party leaders, such as Elizabeth Warren."
Oh, yeah, I can totes see Senator Warren supporting Biden over HRC or Bernie. ^o)

This. It does not bode well that you can't shit or get off the pot already.

josieposy and mrshandy - why the jump to assuming that Biden would only run if he had inside info about HRC going to give out negative info? Why would HRC share her hand with Biden and what would he know that she doesn't? I assume she's probably not shared much with him since he's been wishy-washy about running against her. She did say once he was a "friend" and should do what he thinks is best, and she is fine with him in the race.
I guess I see it as Biden thinks he can court the old-school men in the party and come away with the nomination over HRC and Bernie. But there are many polls (now I sound like Trump) that show that Biden stepping in results in a Bernie nomination, not a Biden win. Plus, he has been involved in a lot of the Obama foreign issues and that is probably Obama's weakest area of improvement, therefore Biden doesn't look strong with respect to that.
ETA: Maybe he's going back to his blue collar/worker campaign of past. He was a big union supporter years ago, right? Maybe he thinks Bernie and Hillary aren't taping into the middle to lower class vote?
Maybe I'm just too tired, but this seems unnecessary. But I am prepared to eat my words if he does actually throw his hat in and some campaign ending shit comes out.
ETA: And the fact that he waited until after the debate where HRC did kick ass, I dunno, leaves a bad taste in my mouth. Like he couldn't handle her doing well.

Because I watch too many movies.
I guess my thought is. Time is running out. He should have done this a month+ ago if he was going to run. I guess he doesn't lack for name recognition so that will help him. It's the timing of it that makes me wonder what's going on. Right before she's going to testify and after she had a strong debate performance.
But yeah, I see NO benefit. I know in many states, he needs to declare by December. But it really seems the best course of action is to see if HRC goes down hard over the email thing. If not (and I doubt she will), he should stay out, because he's just going to muddy the waters.
On Meet the Press, someone mentioned that he can't and won't say what he would need to in order to get to the top: "Sorry, Hils, I love you, but you have too much baggage to be elected, and even if you are, you can't work with the Republicans to get stuff done." True or not, a lot of people would believe that.
Also, people would not be enthused about him ruining the chances of the most likely woman president we've had yet.

Yeah, that statement would ruin his chances of getting a VP nomination from HRC or Bernie after.

Did you see the letter that the senator from DE sent the other day? Speculation is that Biden actually wrote it. He's leaking this stuff and making it look like it's coming from others in the party.

The other bugger is that he is still part of the Obama administration & can't speak out against anythin Obama is currently doing (Hello TPP agreement!) HRC can and has recently taken several positions that are counter the current administration so that she can have some space between her & Biden if he gets in & criticize the current Obama policies.
