Good night so far, took a late nap with DD from 6:30-9, then but her in her crib at 10:30, woke up at 1:15. Only half hour later though and she woke herself up.. She keeps rotating herself in the crib and waking up. Like we put her down facing one way and she spins herself (not rolling over yet, but maybe she's trying?). She hit her feet on the side of the crib rails just now, DH is rocking her back to sleep.
Not sure what to do to prevent this from waking her though, we had 2 nights of shitty sleep (60-90 minutes between wakeups), so tonight is definitely better but I'm not sure what's going on. We thought maybe teething but now I'm not sure.
First wake up at 2 am. Not bad. I am going in to work late-ish today since I didn't get home from my business trip until almost 11, so I'm going to get a bit of extra sleep after h takes the kids to daycare.

It's 2 a.m. and we're on wakeup #2, which is good for DD. She's in her RNP making funny little noises, but I think she's almost back to sleep. I'm SUPER tired tonight so the three hour stretch of sleep I just got was much appreciated.
We really need to transition out of the RNP, but I really don't want to deal with her sleep getting worse. But we need her to be able to sleep in a PNP by Thanksgiving, so we have a deadline.
Wake up #2 here after a 3.5 hour stretch. S went down around 9:30, then had a midnight feed, and is now up again, not bad! This should get us to around a 7ish wakeup for the day.
When have people started to use the crib vs bassinet/rnp? Her crib is still technically in our room (if you remember my closet conversion) but the bassinet is up against the bed. She scoots down the bassinet in her sleep sometimes and gets her feet to the bottom and I think it wakes her up? I'm wondering if the bigger space of the crib would help.
Wake up 2 after a 3 hour stretch. I'm exhausted and literally can't keep my eyes open. I just changed his diaper with my eyes shut. Nursing on side 2 now, so I think I'm waking up... Ugh. I sleep heaviest in the early morning hours and that, of course, is when he is up most frequently.
My back is also KILLING me. I assume it's from carrying an 11 lb kid all the time plus the constant bending over to pick him up, change diapers, etc. My heating pad is waiting in bed for me...
Wake up #2 here. The first wake up was at 1:15, where I did some light Ferber. She fell back to sleep after 15 mins or so and didn't wake again until now (5:00). Woo! But man she is wide awake now. Hopefully she will doze while nursing so I can quickly pump the other side and go back to sleep for an hour.
The worst part about wakeups now is that because our heat isn't on yet and my husband loves the ceiling fan it is freezing! It is going to be 79 again though, so it seems silly to turn it on for a day and then wish the house was cool again.
Wakeup #3 here. She slept almost 5 hours, then 2, and 2 again. I couldnt fall back asleep between wakeups 1 & 2, hopefully she'll give me a decent stretch after this one.
awkwardpenguin, has she tried a flat surface yet? DD only slept in a rnp until about 10 weeks, when we went to visit my brother for a weekend. It was her first time sleeping in pnp/flat surface, and she did so well that we set up the pnp in our room when we got home. She didnt sleep through the night or anything, but her sleep was no different than normal.
E had a busy night. Up at 9, 1:30, 2 (I didn't nurse him to sleep for this one, just paci and rocking), and now again at 5:30. I'm tired.
fashionx, E is doing the same. We still have him in the bassinet of the pnp, so it's soft mesh sides. When he hits those things, he doesn't wake up. Scared me a lot at first.
Up again, after only an hour. I took off work today & tomorrow because my parents are visiting (which the stress from that is probably why I'm struggling to fall asleep during dd's wakeups). It's like she knows I can sleep in, so she'll wakeup earlier than normal. She does it on the weekends, too. Sigh/yawn.
Wake up #2 after just over 3 hours of sleep, about 4 from the last feeding. Just hoping for another 3 hours after this to get us until morning. I went back to my own bed after wake up #1, when I normally crash in the nursery and I slept so much better not listening to all her sleep noises. But I will stay in here with her now since DH's alarm will go off in about an hour and I don't need to get up for 2 hours.

nmosrob, that's really good to hear. She has successfully slept flat once in her life for a few hours. Other than that one time, our attempts have been miserable failures. But we've got to do it, she's definitely getting too big for the RNP.

How old is your DD? I swear I dread having to transition the baby (currently almost 8 weeks) to a flat surface bc the ONLY place he's slept at night is the swing.
She's four months. And a terrible sleeper, so yeah, I'm definitely dreading it. Although it seems like overall it will make life easier.
I did another night of no monitor and it was fabulous. I put her down around 7 pm and she cried off and on a little but but ultimately went to sleep without DH or me coming back in. She woke up at midnight and I nursed her. Then I turned the monitor off and I slept until 7. She was asleep when I woke up, but started crying a little bit after, so I'm nursing her now. Fantastic!!

We switched when DD got too long for the bassinet, around 2 months old. But I know that's early for many. We now do the first few shifts in her crib and then I usually bring her into our bed and co-sleep for the rest of the night/early morning because I'm too tired to keep getting up. If my bassinet had been bigger we probably would have just kept her in there until 3-4 months when we can kind of start sleep training.
ETA: The actual transition wasn't bad though, the bassinet was a flat surface already and so is the crib.

I'm wondering if I should do the PNP bassinet instead of the crib for awhile, maybe she would sleep better.
After the first half of the night was good, she woke up again after an hour and I brought her into our bed. I'm pretty sure she still woke up every hour even then but I was half asleep for most of it.
