A coworker just walked past my area and "reminded" me to smile as he passed by.
DUDE. I am sitting alone at my desk. You aren't even near my desk, you happen to be walking by my general area while I'm focused on something. I DON'T HAVE TO SMILE 24/7. LEAVE ME ALONE.

Wtf? That's annoying.
There is a really different way of speaking here and it bugs me. "Seen" is apparently interchangeable with "saw" and I hate that! One of the biggest offenders has horrible grammar and spelling. I just don't understand how people can sound so uneducated in a professional setting. Maybe I'm being snobby about it, but these are basic skills! Even my coworker from Poland speaks better English, lol.
katespade OHHHHHHHHH that is one of my pet peeves too!! Hate that!
I hate "clock martyrs." People who are "ohhhhhhh look at what time I came in todaaaaaaayyyy and what time I'm finally leaviiiiiiing." Seriously. Do your work like the rest of us. We don't need a show. Clock martyrs do it to themselves to. I see them gabbing away when they could be working on something more efficiently. Also, when they DO leave work early, they have to have everyone in the office know WHY they're having to leave early on this rare occurrence. "I have a doctors appointment everyone! I have to leave early for ONCE!" They also try to one-up people. Like, my boss is a clock martyr. She normally comes in about 7:30. I have started coming in at 7:15 despite the fact that I'm not due until 8. Of course, NOW she's showing up at 7. She has to be able to complain still and she can't do that when I'm coming in at 7:15.
Mine never respond to email submissions. Sometimes I'll submit a newsletter, invitation draft, and fundraising letter all in separate emails on the same night... Only to hear nothing. It drives me crazy. How hard is it to say, "got it, thanks."

I have the offshoot of that. I start at 8:30 and leave at 5:30. My co-workers generally leave around 4:30-5p and I get, oh, it's 5:00 why are you still here? Dude, I leave at 5:30, you know so that non-existent phone calls that come in can be routed to people who are gone for the day, lol
