Our Costco had American Girl $100 gift cards at Costco for $79.99. They also had Bitty Babies there I think it was $99 for a baby and book or something.
Mine had the gift cards, a craft set, and the book sets. I almost grabbed the gift cards (along with a lego set and a different craft kit) but the line to check out was approximately 9 billion people long.
Hey all, so I snagged the gift card when I was at Costco last, but I'm second guessing whether this is going to be a good present for my DD1 (4.5). She hasn't been that into dolls and I'm not sure she'll really take care of it. I might try the Target knock-off first. I'm not 100% yet, but if someone wants to buy the gift card from me, holler. I'm not sure Costco will take a gift card back... will they?
Okay so I'm dying to take DD to the American Girl store for her birthday. I want to do lunch and get a doll, the whole thing. What's a good age? I was thinking 5? She's only 2 now lol
I'm starting to be persuaded that 8 (the recommended age) is right. I don't know, it's an expensive doll. I guess it depends on how much you think she'll play with it and how she'll take care if it.

It's so age dependent. You could get her a bitty baby now. DD got hers at 21 months and she was well loved for about 3 years. Now she is moving onto the bigger dolls at almost 5. My MIL got her a look alike doll last Christmas and DD liked her but didn't play with her much until recently. Now she has fallen down the rabbit hole and is in love with it all. She is very good at taking care of her things so I don't mind.
