A bunch of girls I run with decided to get together and start a weekly fitness bootcamp. We were being too "cheap" to join a real program and half the point is just group motivation anyway, right?
My friend emailed the idea to us on Tuesday afternoon and twelve women showed up at the local park at 6 a.m. the next morning! One of the girls is a fitness instructor so she led the workout. We'll probably take turns in the future. It was SO much fun! I'm incredibly sore today though.
Has anyone else done anything like this? I'm really excited about it!
I might resort to this, my regular bootcamp instructor is going on maternity leave in a couple weeks. This session is over next week but another one starts right after that which she obviously wont be teaching...I have a feeling Im not going to like her replacement..Its a guy for 1, & 2, He's subbed for us a couple times & is just, meh....NMS
I was toying w/the idea of dropping out for this next session till the regular instructor comes back in Jan....
We started out on the picnic tables, using them for step-ups and planks/pushups and lunges and dips and single-leg stand ups. 3 sets of each with like, 20 reps.
Then we moved to the grass and did squats, frog jumps, bridge exercises, planks with stretching opposite leg and arm out, burpees, etc. I'm probably not remembering it all because my brain stopped working at a certain point. We did probably 3 sets and 20 reps of each of these as well.
It didn't seem so bad at the time, but now I can hardly walk. And I have a half marathon on Sunday. Ouch!
