Within These Walls by Ania Ahlborn I'm really enjoying it. Her last 2 books were a bit of a disappointment so I am relieved. It's a good spooky Halloween read.
QOTW: I remember having a great Statue of Liberty costume when I was a kid. My mother made me a torch out of a flashlight and tinfoil.
I just finished The Left Hand of Darkness by Ursula Le Guin last night, it was good and very interesting, and it shocks me a little that it was written in 1969.
My favorite costume was from a couple of years ago. It wouldn't be funny to anyone here, but I dressed up as a piece of work equipment and it was absolutely hilarious to me and all of my co-workers.
In a Dark, Dark Wood by Ruth Ware. It's ok so far -- fast paced and interesting, but the writing leaves something to be desire. She's very fond of having her characters' faces fall. That woman's face fell, this guy's face fell. Her "face fell, visibly." (Can it fall invisibly? How would you know it happened if it wasn't visible?)
QOTW: I was a butterfly in kindergarten and it's still my favorite. We made these gorgeous cardboard wings and I had bright red tights.
I finished by book club book (finally) and started The Cuckoo's Calling by Robert Galbraith (JK Rowling) this week. I am enjoying it. Just happy to return to a novel.
QOTW: when I was a kid my mom made me an ET costume, both my brother and I wore on different years.
Caleb Carr's Angel of Darkness. It's slow going and the copy I have is a lot of dense text. Hopefully I'll get a chunk of time to get into it more.
QOTD: as a kid, Princess Leia around 2nd grade. We have no pictures of it tho. My mom made a yarn wig. As an adult, I made my own costume, Statue of Liberty, including paper mâché book and torch. I started on it months before. It happened to be 2001.
Currently reading And The Mountains Echoed by Khaled Hosseini, really liking it so far. I enjoyed his other books so I was looking forward to this one.

I finished 1984 (It was a slog -- honestly it took me nearly two years to get through. I did not like it. I can appreciate that it's well written, well crafted, and thought provoking, but I did not like it.)
Now I am reading A Fatal Twist of Lemon before I move on to Something Fishy as the last, uncompleted task for my 2015 Ultimate Reading Challenge. (I have four more tasks in progress, but I'm reading a bit of those each day and have them timed to finish by the end of the year.)
QOTW: Honestly, I've never liked Halloween. I've never liked dressing in costumes, and I have horrible, bad memories associated with every time I attempted something remotely original or cute. It's just not something I enjoy and I've stopped trying.
I think I'm going to read The Witching Hour. I finished Dracula and I'm trying to read the books I already have downloaded. I read a bunch of reviews and picked the *best*, but it was terrible! Anne Rice is always good. I've read The Witching Hour before, but not the kindle version, which I picked up on sale about a year ago.
QOTD: TBH, I think my costume tonight was my favorite, even though NO ONE NOTICED I WAS EVEN WEARING A COSTUME! I was Marty McFly. Blue flannel shirt, jean jacket, orange vest. Halloween is always so cold and I was toasty warm!
I'm reading The Last Anniversary by Liane Moriarty and really liking it. Listening to Home Front by Kristin Hannah. It's just ok, a bit predictable and I'm ready for it to be done.
Qotw: in high school my mom helped me make a Martian costume. I had a purple satin mini dress, purple shaggy boot covers, and these huge glittery fake eyelashes. At the time, I remember just loving that costume, and it was fun to work on it with my mom.

All You Could Ask For: A Novel Just started, got it off of Book Bub, wanted to get something light- we'll see!
My sister and I were Thundercats, but I don't remember which ones, or maybe we were the same..? Wasn't there only one female? In any case, I remember following up "Trick or Treat!" with "Thunder... Thunder... ThunderCats!!! EehOohhh!"
