My 3 year old loves the Skechers light up Twinkle Toe shoes. I buy them for her but they can be $30-50. The last pair I bought, she's wore to school (day care). She scraped her toes doing something at school and has scraped a hole in them. She's scraped a hole in the toe of all the shoes she wears to school.
My plan was to buy cheap school shoes, but then I'm concerned that cheap shoes will get a hole faster and need replaced more often. Anyone have any good school shoe recommendations?
I Would pay more for 1 good pair that won't get a hole so easy or I'd go cheap for decent shoes that need replaced more often.

You honestly might want to try a pair of shoes from Walmart. DS is HARD on shoes, and he's had pairs from there that last until the sole wears down (which for him has been the better part of a year), so worth the $10-$15. I've had shoes from Target that only lasted a few weeks though. He wears Crocs in the summer and those have lasted 2 summers per pair.

I love that idea! I assume Wal-Mart shoes are very inexpensive.
