Oh man, they let you use the spin bikes when class isn't in session? Jealous.
The morning Halloween party was a little overwhelming for everybody and we stayed out past the usual nap time start. So far we've had both a productive and relaxing 3 hours - got some cleaning done, painted Mailbox, filled the votive candles bags with cat litter, etc.
I realize this is stupid and pathetic but I'm in bed crying because DS refuses to wear a costume and doesn't want to trick or treat. I don't really care about TOTing but I am beyond sad that he won't wear a costume at all just for even a few minutes so I can get some cute pictures. We've tried on four different occasions over the last week to get him to wear any of the three costumes I have for him. And DH totally doesn't get it and is being very dismissive of my feelings. This sucks.
Lol - you really are Bridget Jones-ing it! Just don't fall off the bike.
I got my hair done this morning, had a nice solo lunch out in the sun (poke - yum!), & picked up supplies for dinner tonight (jack o'lantern pizza & cupcakes). The girls spent the morning with our friends while H worked on the condo, so J2 has been passed out the last two hours since we got home. J1 is watching TV and I'm enjoying the fact I don't have to keep either kid entertained right now.
mcfelix hugs. You have no idea how that is MY LIFE with Noah, he refuses pictures so there are so many occasions and holidays where I don't even have any pics of him
starlily that sounds like such a nice day. I've got to admit my heart aches just a little at how much I miss my freedom and solo time right now. I'm so tired
Yesterday afternoon and this morning was the first solo time not involving illness that I've had in such a while. I feel your pain, because I was seriously on the brink of losing it. Hang in there.
My former hairdresser dressed her 18 month old up as Judge Judy for Halloween. I am not going to post a photo of someone else's kid here but it is EPIC.
On our way to a Hallowen party. Love how my costume turned out. Pics later!
I bought one bag of candy because we usually only get a couple of TOTers. I've been eating the candy tonight, figuring that there's plenty left for the few kids that come to our door. It seems that a bunch of kids have moved onto our street this past year because at least 10 kids have come by. I hope I don't run out of candy. I guess I shouldn't have eaten so much of it. Oops.

Ds1 got like 4 freezies from the emergency department nurses while we waited for the Dr. He fell asleep on the couch after we got home. Poor thing is exhausted from being sick constantly. I hope our household is healthy again soon.
Trick-or-treating was a bust. DS was a total mess. we did five houses then just gave up and came home. You finally eat more dinner and of course now is having a blast playing with DH in the basement.
I need a break from the high needs when he toddler so I'm hiding upstairs with DD. We did take beer with us trick-or-treating so that helped.
H is out with C while I put the baby down. I was going to try to keep him up late because of DST but that didn't happen. I'm already dreading tomorrow morning.

H is at a Halloween theme wedding so I did trick or treating on my own the handed out candy with Dd from the porch.
I turned the porch light off about half an hour ago as I had to put her to bed. And we hadn't had kids for a while. 10 mins later incessant knocking and bell ringing. Dd started screaming. I went down and gave candy and said to the mum that I had closed shop as was putting baby to bed. She said , well you will get this all night. Plus she had her own bag for candy! Wtf
Actually no, most people know to avoid the houses with no lights. Grrrrt
Random q: when you are friends with mmmers on fb, do you like and comment on pictures of the kids posted by the spouse of the mmmer? Sometimes I feel like the spouse is going to be all "who are all your random friends?!" but my H would just shrug and laugh at me being "internet cool".
Bonus of my H not being on Facebook or any social media. I don't have to explain anything to him, lol.
Our A/C is out. The guy isn't coming until Monday. It's hot in our house. We have ask the windows open, looking for that cross breeze but sleeping is going to suck. E is just wearing a onesie to bed.

My h doesn't post on fb. If you ever see something posted by him (photo of dd etc), it means he made me log in to his account and post for him. He is annoying.

We had the lowest turnout of trick or treaters we have had since living here. I don't think a lot of people on my street were handing out which makes me sad for when we decide to go.
I've also had 3 beers and no dinner yet. Happy Halloween!
On our way to Halloween event #2. CloudBee , after seeing your costume post, I totally begged Mr.Kirkette to dress up as a tennis ball. Sadly, he wasn't having any of it.

We had the neighborhood parade and then we hosted some neighbors who we are trying to get to know better for pizza and drinks. I am sad that some folks didn't show but we had a nice time with the people who did.
And we blew through the caramel vodka (mixed with hot apple cider). H and I took tumblers with us ToTing.
Our apartment building failed at Halloween this year. Apparently the dimwits in the main office didn't hand out the "hang this on your door for trick or treaters" door tags to every apartment this year like they've done the past 2 years. We had one because I went over there and asked for it and figured we had just lost the one they usually put under the door. There were a total of 3 apartments with the tag, and a 4th one with a bowl of candy in the hall. One of those doors was ours. Last year I took DD and we went to at least 10 doors. Good thing DD still doesn't understand TOTing because that would've been so sad.
But they remembered to arrange a costume party for the dogs in the complex yesterday. Yes because dogs are totally into Halloween.
We successfully kept P up until almost 8! She'd been going down around 6:45 and that just wasn't going to do, so we sloooooowly pushed it back over the last 2 weeks. Hoping tomorrow is decently smooth sailing.
We had fun taking her out with our friends tonight, we hit like 4 houses and came home to eat fajitas and let the kids climb around. P has the same gross motor skills as my friend's 1 year old (crawling, pulling to stand on stuff, cruising), and my other friend's son (2w younger than P) doesn't even crawl, not to mention pull up on stuff. I think we inadvertently panicked them I feel really bad about it.
I'm somewhat lucid now after a dinner of beer and Jell-O shots.
We went ToTing in a really nice neighborhood that my H's friends live in. The whole neighborhood got together for a chili cook off before ToTing began. My H and I just kind of looked around and felt a little sad that our neighborhood isn't very close knit and that we aren't as seemingly well off as the rest. For the first time in a long time I felt very self conscious that we didn't belong.
Halloween, as always, was awesome. It is, hands down, my very favorite holiday. You dress up, you eat candy and that is success in and of itself. if you achieve anything above that, it's a bonus.
Now, to figure out how to untangle my over-teased hair. I don't know how i did this when I used to tease and Aqua Net my hair in the 80s, but I think shower wine is in order.
The last week DS2 won't nurse to sleep. I'm conflicted because this mean I'm not stuck doing bedtime but it's easier than walking/bouncing him for 20min.

We are waiting for our friends to get here and then we are taking the kids out TOTing. My mom and step dad are staying back at our house with DD.
DD's very loose schedule seems all over the place lately. Like its 615 now and I'm nursing her swaddled in the nursery right now even though I has just fed her at 430. But I think she was tired and over stimulated from the boys being loud and running around like crazy kids all hyped up for halloween. I hope this is just a cat nap and then my mom can feed her a bottle when she wakes up and keep her up/entertained until we get back. I need DD to have a late bedtime tonight for daylight savings time.
