So. I just spent 2 days driving from Canada to south Florida where I'm spending the next 5 weeks. Hallelujah because it's cold at home and like 90 here today.
I have some semi PCE questions that arose on my drive!
- who pays for the giant Jesus billboards that line I-75 from Ohio to Florida? Seems like a TON of $$ spent on those bad boys.
- are there rules about how high advertisements can be? It seems as though it's a competition to out-do each other. There was a Cracker Barrel sign like 200 ft in the air in Georgia. Ftr, I got chicken fried tenders with hash brown casserole and some salad. The salad was clearly a mistake. I stole some of the kkds Mac n cheese
- why is chick-FilaA so damn awesome!? I've always avoided it since they're jerks, but it was our best option for lunch one day and we were soooo tired and hungry. This was in Tennessee. I was hoping to hate it but I can't.
I think those are my most important questions for now.
LOL. Are you in SE or SW Florida? It is hot as balls here today, doesn't even begin to feel like November. ChickFilA is good, but if you see one in your travels Zaxbys is better There are a lot in the south.

One of the things H hates most about Georgia is that there is basically no regulation for billboards so people are allowed to erect hideous monstrosities all along the highway. Having grown up here, I never really noticed it before (I just assumed it was like that everywhere), but now I notice it big time and I hate it too.
CFA is awesome, sadly. The lemonade is the nectar of the gods.

Oh yes, I love me some Zaxby's.
Is Zaxby's awesome? One just opened locally and I don't know if I want to try it.
I live in Ohio right off of 75, so I'm very familiar with that stretch of highway. Local businesses have things like "Jesus is the answer" written on the outside of the building to be seen on the highway. People's barns read "Abortion stops a beating heart" and stuff like that. Many pro-life and pro-Jesus billboards. And of course Big Butter Jesus a little farther down near Cinci. I live in one of the reddest areas of Ohio. We love Jesus, babies, and guns. We are the people Obama talked about clinging to their guns and religion. No doubt the majority of those billboards are funded by private citizens.
Chick fil a also has wonderful ice and the nicest people working there.
Isn't ice hard to mess up?
Yes! Publix has the most amazing ice. It's super "soft" and shaped kind of ovaly. Man, I love it. After I had DS2 I craved it and I even looked into finding an ice machine that would have similar with no luck
Chick Fil A no longer donates to anti-LGBT groups. www.glaad.org/tags/chick-fil Some still post very anti-choice or Jesusy quotes on their reader boards, but that's up the individual franchisee and not the whole company.

They literally were the nicest fast food workers I've ever encountered. I asked if I could buy a bottle of water to fill my daughters bottle and they were like "oh, here! Have this for free!" And then heated her bottle up.

Good. I seriously had an argument with my H before we ate there because I was like NOOOO we can't eat there!!

Home sweet home!!! Man alive, I love where I live
He got struck by lightning and had to be torn down. They replaced Butter Jesus with Hug Me Jesus in 2012.

I really miss touchdown jesus. I enjoyed taking my east coast friends up to see him.

YES!!!!!! Their Buffalo Blue Salad is outstanding, and they have great ice, and I can get Dasani sparkling lime to drink, and my daughters are supposed to meet me for lunch today and maybe I can convince them to go to Zaxby's with me instead of Which Wich...
Obviously you missed NC & the south of the border billboards or this would have been on your list. Pedro is sad.
90 more miles! 89 more miles! 88 more miles!
Did you see the giant peach that looks like a butt? I can't remember if that's in SC or GA.
CFA is delicious and pays their workers well and has the best customer service and you can't stop me from eating there. Plus a teen mom who worked there came up to me once while I was breastfeeding my almost one-year-old and instead of telling me to leave or cover up, she basically said I was her breastfeeding hero and we had a moment so they get all my money.
If you drove on 75 through TN you drove right by my exit.
One thing that always bothered me about boycotting CFA was that they do a lot of stuff that I want to support. Like their workers love working there and it's seriously such a pleasant experience going there. I think they pay well too - I've known a few people who've worked there and they have nothing but good things to say. And that's something I do want to support with my money.

Totally did! And even i75 was so lovely all through TN. The mountains and trees were amazing. Can't say the same about most of Ohio, Georgia or Florida. Sorry friends lol. Actually Ohio looks a lot like my area of Ontario. Boring!
I was totally impressed with Chick FIL-a and I will totally go there again. Lol. Clearly I'm not as good about boycotting as i would like to be.

Well they have apparently stopped donating but I am not sure of all the ins and outs on that.
TN really is beautiful, esp East TN. Some mornings when I take the kids to school it's clear enough to see the mountains when I head south. It's stunning.
