YOU GUYS!
I skipped ahead to week 5, day 3 of Couch to 5k today - run segments of 7, 5, and 7 minutes. AND I RAN ALL OF THEM! I'm still show slow, but I did it! 26 days until my 5k - I can do this!!!
Unfortunately, I still feel super bloated because I have been eating all the Halloween candy. Ugh. Must stop stuffing my face with chocolate.
My yoga studio is having a gratitude challenge - 26 classes in 26 days - leading up to Tday. I'm going to do it. I'm probably going to be thankful it's over because yoga makes me so sore.

Ended our monthly workout bet in a draw. There was a 20 minute disputed workout that left me either down 3 or up 17. So rather than argue we just called it a draw.
Yesterdays run was ROUGH. I didn't get to head out until midday and all u had eaten was an English muffin. Not a great plan. Did it though. 5 miles.
I'm feeling pretty good about the 10k next weekend. Trying to decide if I should stick with my slow and steady pace with no breaks or try to push faster.

I ran a new route with a new group this morning. It was 3.3 miles but the last almost mile was straight uphill. Like, can't see the top of the mountain type hill. I had to walk it. I'm disappointed.
Today is the last day of my recovery week, aka: stuff my face with crappy food, drink every day, don't exercise. I also just got done making chili and cinnamon scones. What I really need to do is make my workout plan to bridge between now and the start of Boston training. Thinking 3-4 days of running and 2-3 days of lifting/yoga/other stuff.

I ordered a Garmin. I've never used one before. I hope I like it.
Yes, they are! Friday, my run was supposed to be run segments of 4, 6, and 4 minutes. It wound up being 3:30, 6, and 6 because the first one was alllllll uphill.

I'm sorry. I don't understand what that means.
.......yes. I'm lurking in here with the hopes of getting some inspiration to get my ass to the gym!

Hmmm...doesn't sound like the IT band. Maybe your quads are tight? Does stretching help at all?*
*earned MD from TV, interwebz and Life Experience medical school.
Not noticably. Hard to tell. But tomorrow is yoga day so I'll wear supportive flats to work, then yoga, and see how it feels when I get up for my run on Tues. Fingers crossed.
You know what's ridiculous? I went to a sports medicine doc about this time last year because something hurt. He told me I had very high and very non-bendy arches, prescribed me some insoles (which I obtained and put on my running shoes) and said to come back if it didn't help.
But then I got ktfu and it was winter and I stopped running. So I don't know if the insoles helped.
Aaaaand now I can't remember what hurt. Like, is this knee thing the same problem o was having before? Uhhh..I dunno. Or maybe the random ball of my foot pain I get on and off? Or...neither?
I can't believe I seriously can't remember what hurt enough to actually get me to the doctor.

I got up and went to the gym this morning, for the first time in weeks. Today was back, shoulders, and core. I had to decrease the weight on a few exercises from where I was, but that's fine - I didn't want to push it. The only one that really hurt was the Arnold presses - my left bicep hurt like a bitch. I did fewer reps in the second set and dropped down to 7.5 lb dumbbells for the last set. I'll try a different shoulder exercise next week and see if that helps.
We found a huge container of pictures from when DH and I were dating in college and over the last 15 years or so. It was so depressing. That was probably the push I needed.
So in the last couple of weeks (one week where DH was out of town for six days), I've been going to bed very early, i.e. by 9 PM. The result of going to bed early being that I haven't been snacking at night. The result of not snacking at night for two weeks? I lost six pounds! Woot!

Granted, it was mostly flat. But still. SUCK IT 8K.
I am currently annoyed because it looks like the Turkey Trot has a thing about no strollers. I've emailed the organizers to see if it's a general ban or if jogging strollers are allowed. But now my H is being all pissy and mopey and "I won't run." and my sister and I are like "Just have BIL watch them." and H is all hesitant, which I DO NOT understand.
Anyway. Best result is that they allow jogging strollers. Worst result is my H turns into a sulky drama queen. Likely result is he pulls his head out of his ass and lets BIL watch the boys.

Are the boys potty trained? I'm trying to think of a way to bribe my H to watch them for you.
I played two hockey matches this weekend, but only lifted once last week as I wasn't sleeping (we had our time change the week before y'all). I've caught up on sleep, so I'll lift today, do hockey training tomorrow, umpire a match on Wednesday (lots of running), lift on Thursday, sprints on Friday and play on Saturday...possibly lift on Sunday.
I ate out & drank most nights last week as my H was away on business so I binged on going out with friends. I'm one big bloat right now, so no alcohol for a week.

B is. S is not.
But really H is just being an idiot. Last night he was like "Well, can I run at my own pace then so I finish faster?" and I got all salty (cause I'm making good gains on my pace and endurance) and said "Yeah, cause those 5 minutes will be crucial." You let your mother DRIVE THEM and take them to the ZOO and you're giving me grief about my BIL watching them for 50 minutes? GTFO with that shit.

Yeah, I don't think I could convince him to watch a non-potty-trained kid solo for more than about 5 minutes. He has even less experience with young kids than I do, and mine is pretty non-existent.
Good luck with your plan! I am so slow that I am just working on my endurance so I can do the whole thing. Well, I know I can physically finish because I can walk a 5k in my sleep, but by goal is to run it with no walking breaks.
I'm trying to get back into a routine, which has been ruined by work as of late. I did run/walk intervals yesterday, have a barre class today, and I'm planning to try out a kettlebell class on Wednesday.
My tentative plan is barre on Mondays, kettlebell Wednesdays, and lifting on my own on Fridays, plus at least one run during the week. I lifted last week and my hamstrings killed me for three days after doing one-legged deadlifts. Eeeesh. It's been too long.
I also haven't bought soda during my last few grocery store trips. I found out that Costco sells my favorite sparkling water (Perrier lime) in large quantities, and having those around constantly helps a lot.

Can you check the RAC threads from last year?
You are smart! It was my foot apparently. I was not more specific than that. But not knee so there's that.
