dizzycooks Browned a few chicken Apple sausages and one Italian sausage from the deli. (My DS doesn't like too spicy, but spicy Italian sausage would be tasty if your kids do like spice.) Remove from pan. Cook up veggies (I did chopped up snow peas, carrots, celery, broccoli stems) in the same pan. Then a bag of baby spinach. Once veggies soft and spinach wilted add 5 cloves chopped garlic, cook for a minute. Add a pat of butter and spoonful of flour in middle and of pan - cook for about a minute, stirring. Add cooked sausage back in. . Add 1/4 cup chicken stock and 1/4 cup cream and a 1/4 of Parmesan. Stir all together. In the meantime cook rigatoni in a separate pot, drain and mix it all together.
Edit: the original is giada's rigatoni with spicy sausage, greens and garlic cream. Hers is a bit more involved but from her app so I can't link

What kind if squash are you talking? I have a good butternut squash soup recipe is that real simple
Butternut. I've already cooked the squash if that matters.
How did you cook it? I like to roast it bc it adds that extra flavor. But I've seen plenty times people just boiling it or even using the crock pot.
Ok well since it's cooked, I just stick it in a big pot with and onion and chicken broth. I add salt, pepper and garlic powder. Let it simmer a while. Then slowly blend. It usually takes a few times going back and forth to the blender since it doesn't all fit at once. I will add a little 2% milk to thin it out if I need too. Never more then 1/4 cup. Once it's all blended, I like to sprinkle some cinnamon in. Then when I serve it I put a spoonful of sour cream on top. It's always really yummy.
