I'm really wondering what "affiliated" means in this context. Like, these KKK organizations donated to these senators and mayors? Or they are actually members?
But does anybody think this will matter? Is not like these people espouse different values than those of the KKK. The my guess is it won't have much impact on those who vote for them.

I think most people who know the people on the list probably aren't surprised at all.
LOL, this is Thom Tillis's wikipedia page right now:
Thomas Roland "Thom" Tillis[1] (born August 30, 1960) is an American politician and KKK member[2] who is the junior United States Senator from North Carolina. A Republican, he served as a member of the North Carolina House of Representatives from Mecklenburg County, and Speaker of the House, and was also the Republican Party's nominee for the 2014 U.S. Senate election in North Carolina, defeating Democratic incumbent Kay Hagan.
John Cornyn doesn't surprise me, except that this is a senator we're talking about. In 2015.

Well, I don't know many people on the list but apparently Knoxville's mayor is one and I've never seen anything on the news or in the paper that would make me think "totally affiliated with the KKK!" The Senator from Indiana (Dan Coats) has a pretty moderate reputation from what I've seen. He was a senator for awhile and then ran again but it was around the time we moved so I haven't heard much about him. But a lot of crazy Rs I know don't like him because he's apparently too moderate.

This is 2015 - and it looks like we have a handful of KKK members and, we can't forget, racist presidential candidates. Fully disgusting, embarrassing, and wrong.

If this is confirmed, there will likely be serious repercussions from the party establishment. I can't imagine the RSCC giving a cent to anyone whose affiliation is confirmed.

... Which will only increase their cred with the insurgent, BS crazy wing of the party, increasing donations and boots on the ground for them.
On the one hand, I ain't mad at Anonymous for treating these particular guys badly.
On the other hand, this makes it that much easier for some conservative zealots to justify something like publishing lists of women who have gone to Planned Parenthood or had abortions.
Signed, Also cynical that this will makes things better
2. Norfolk,Va Mayor: Paul D. Fraim: age 66: last known spouse elizabeth peer: Living in Norfolk,Va: Known KKK Affiliated Group:Traditionalist American Knights of the Ku Klux Klan:
Yeah, much as I adore Anonymous fuckery, this isn't the first piece I've read about one of the politicians named who seems like, shall we say, a bit of a stretch. I'll wait for more information before serving champagne.
The mayor of Lexington KY is on this list and I don't buy it for a minute. He's an openly gay Democrat. So it makes me doubt the rest of this list even though Thom Tillis wouldn't surprise me at all.
Yeah, much as I adore Anonymous fuckery, this isn't the first piece I've read about one of the politicians named who seems like, shall we say, a bit of a stretch. I'll wait for more information before serving champagne.
The Lexington mayor is openly gay and ran as such. He also apparently has been a champion of pushing policies that ensure equal rights, so I'm seeing a lot of people defending him on Facebook.
They may be right on some of these, but there are also some I would be totally shocked by, like the Knoxville mayor. She's pretty progressive by most standards, not just east TN standards. Of course that doesn't mean she isn't racist but being a KKK member seems unlikely.
Main Anonymous has said they don't support all the mayor names listed as being authenticated. No word on senators.
The Cornyn thing gives me heebie jeebies.
You just don't want to believe that politicians in your state are so very racist they are involved in KKK shit. What the ever loving fuck?
Note, don't take that to mean I am saying it is ok to be a little but racist because I am not saying that. But many people don't see their biases and are racist. That is one problem. Straight up KKK involvement takes it to another level.

Yeah, I just read her bio. She worked with Cesar Chavez?
I just cannot buy that someone working with Latino migrant farm workers is also be so racist as to be affiliated with the KKK. Just because it is possible doesn't mean it is is plausible.
