Got any exciting plans for the weekend?
I'm going to bed super early tonight because I have to drive 2 hours to volunteer for a semi-local triathlon tomorrow morning. Then the ILs, H, and I are going to wander around Lake Tahoe for the afternoon. Sunday we're hitting up church then dropping the ILs off at the airport - then getting ourselves a nice, relaxing dinner and going to bed early. Nothing TOO exciting.
I'm planning to clean the bathrooms and kitchen of my new place and possibly move some stuff in on Saturday. Sunday I'm getting together with some friends for a catch up brunch as its been months since we last saw each other. I'm really looking forward to the brunch and catching up on my sleep.
Yes! DH & I are flying out to Denver for four days (two personal days and two for work) and meeting up with a friend of mine out there. We're going to Estes Park, Rocky Mountain National Park, Mt Evans, hot springs, possibly driving down Oh My God Road, and meeting up with my friend in downtown Denver for dinner.
Then I'll be back to work for two very busy days and we leave for our only summer vacation next Friday for 10 days. We'll be up at the IL's cabin. They own an island about 5 hours north of the border (13 hour drive each way). The cabin was build in the 50's and has no electricity and the only running water is gravity feed from a water tower we have to pump water up to straight from the lake. We have boil the water before we can wash dishes with it and use bottled water for brushing our teeth but we shower in it. There is a propane water heater and refrigerator (that thing is an old beast!). We're bringing the dog for the first time so that will be interesting...
Then the day after we get back from Canada I'm leave again for work for 4 days back in Denver. I'm getting tired and excited just thinking about it!

Tonight, MIL is picking me up and we're driving to a nearby small town for Quarter Mania. It's basically bingo and you play with quarters and they have vendors who donate the prizes. They get the money that is played on the bingo card to kind of get some of the money back for their donation. I'm only going because I want to get out of the house tonight and make the boys sit at home together again (I went to a Thirty-One gifts party the other night for the same reason -- and then spent $60 lol).
Saturday, I'm going to the Farmer's Market in the morning and relaxing. I need to go find curtain rods and get the curtains hung and the crib assembled. Oh, and sew a crib skirt. I think I'm going to just do a flat one instead of a box pleat because of the time constraints.
Sunday is my baby shower. I'm essentially free and clear to then have a baby anytime after that. Hopefully, not too soon but sooner rather than later haha.

We head to Maryland right after work today. We're going to see my inlaws for the first time in years. I'm not even gone yet and I can't wait to get home.

Tomorrow we are getting up early for us and heading to sils house, she wants to do some shopping and then Dh and I will babysit so they can go out to dinner for their first anniversary.

Promise the box pleat won't take you but maybe 15 minutes longer.

That's 15 minutes more than I have time to make the thing in the first place haha.
I think I saw one on Target's website like what you said I should make. Let me look for it.

Sleeping in tomorrow (yay!!) then maybe doing a few things around the house. SO is golfing Sunday morning, so I'll probably clean, then we're helping his bff with some projects in the house he just moved into (hanging some ceiling fans, painting, etc).
Why yes, I do have exciting plans, thank you for asking
I have named this, my final semester of grad school, Party Like It's 2002 (when I was 21). My honest goal is to party more this semester than I did in all 3 years of undergrad. I was an overly serious student and didn't do much partying after freshman year, so this really isn't a high bar. I only have 4 easy classes, I'm .03 away from graduating with honors, and this is the greatest college town in America. Time to have some fun!
[What this really is is that DH is REALLY ready to have a baby and that prospect scares the HOLY SHIT out of me, so I'm going to act like a typical male and party my ass off before I'm forced to don the mantle of responsibility I've only just learned how to throw off.]
SO, I was out til midnight last night, I'm going out tonight again, and I'm going to a house party tomorrow night. There's another party next Thursday and my fave local band is playing next Saturday. Sweet. :drink:  :drink:  :drink:
Can I just pay one of yall to shop for the stuff I need to finish my guest room? I need curtains, maybe a couple throw pillows, a fun coverlet for a bedding accent. I can't even get excited about D&R anymore...I am however very excited to figure out what to wear tonight to the bars. (*) If I post a pic, will yall just do my shopping for me? Needs to be TJ Maxx/Target prices.
We have dinner with friends tonight. We have a couple of D&R projects -- painted our old kitchen table white and an old writing desk coral for the guest room. I also need to do quite a bit of packing!
We plan to finish installing the counters in half our kitchen so we can schedule our cooktop and oven installation.
We also hope to arrive home tonight without any gas/water/drain issues. The city is converting our neighborhood from septic to city, and the marking company didn't exactly get the location of the gas line right. This resulted in the water company accidentally cutting the gas line yesterday which then resulted in the gas company re-piping the entire gas line to the house.
My parents are in town this weekend, so we'll probably go out to eat, go to the fair, and have a fun weekend. I'm hoping I can talk them in to watching DD tonight so DH and I can go to a movie together. I'm also hoping my dad really wants to help H replace the second and last window we needed to replace. That would really help us out.
Whoa fox. That's a BUSY weekend/week/weekend, but it sounds pretty awesome!
It's actually 3 weeks worth of stuff but it's all back to back so I wrote it all in there. Basically I won't be posting on here until Sept 17th when I'm back to my regular schedule.
Today I am putting what I hope will be the final coats of urethane on the top and shelf of our tv stand, so that we can finish assembling it and get it set up this weekend. I might get a massage after I put on the final coat. Bending over and maneuvering around the two long shelves while sanding and applying the finish has made my back sore.
DH wants me to go to our storage to see what exactly (not much) is in there. I would rather he take some things to storage for me and bring a couple of things home for me to go through. Our storage unit is too inconvenient for me to haul stuff to easily by myself, so I figure since he is the one who got the unit, and I am the one sorting and packing, it shouldn't be that big a deal. Can you tell this is a touchy subject? lol
I really want to get some fresh corn and use some of our chiles to make green corn tamales, but we'll see if we get around to that.
