We had intended to just put her in her crib from day 1, which was about 15 steps from my bed, despite being in a different room, but once she was born, we were too nervous. But, we also didn't want to put her in the RnP at night because of the risks. So H went out the day we were discharged and picked up the RnP bassinet which lays flat. She slept in that in our room until she wouldn't anymore, then the RnP in our room (sleep deprivation got in the way of our anxiety), then the RnP in her room, and finally the crib. Swing or RnP for naps, swing at night only when I was truly desperate. If we had had the room, I would have just used the bassinet attachment for the PnP rather than buying the RnP bassinet, but we didn't.
I'm also not comfortable with starting out with a RnP. I'm curious about the suffocation warning with the bassinest, I haven't heard and can't find anything on Google. That's my primary plan, will adjust if needed.
We started on in the PNP, I was adamant about her not sleeping in the RNP, as I read all those articles too and was too concerned. She slept fine in the PNP and is now in her crib, we transitioned her at 4 months (and by transitioned her I mean we stuck her in her crib and didn't even seem to notice the difference).

DS slept in a Chicco pack n play in our room for almost 6 months -- in the bassinet portion until he exceeded the weight limit, then in the bottom part.
I just wanted to thank the OP for asking this. I've been wondering this myself lately but I didn't want to ask so soon after my crib recommendations post

I found a picture that shows the warning. I'm hoping it's just a standard warning
I think that warning is standard. I am pretty sure it comes on crib mattresses too I mean crib mattresses can be a suffocation hazard too if the kid is face down and can't move his head you know?
Anyway
DS1 - My chest for 2.5 months, then in the arms reach cosleeper next to our bed until 5 months. Then in the crib
DS2 - My chest for 2 weeks until I realized he wasn't settling and then in the crib in his room.
We ended up room sharing and bed sharing. We tried everything and it was not what I planned, but it was the only way they slept. DD1 was mostly in the swing in our room, DS co slept in our bed, DD2 was in a RnP. About 6-9m for each. Longer than advised, but desperate times, man.
FWIW, every item I own that she could possibly sleep in has a warning like that. It basically says to put baby on her back and no pillows, blankets, toys, etc.
She's sleeping in the bassinet that came with our stroller (uppababy vista). A friend key us borrow the bassinet stand. It works great! We are planning on switching to the crib next week but I don't think it will be an issue since she's used to sleeping flat already.
The first two weeks she mostly slept on us. She was fully in the bassinet by 3 weeks.
How old is your LO? Your post made me think that maybe I can just bring the UBV bassinet for DD to sleep in while we are visiting family.

We started in a bassinet, then moved to the bassinet of the PnP, then into her crib at 3 months because she was too wiggly and kept waking herself up in the PnP. In hindsight, we could have put her in the PnP without the bassinet insert, but we could have the crib mattress higher (so easier to take her out of) and we were done with her in our room.
And to answer the OP - we are another RNP loving family. DD is chilling in it right now! But both kids slept in it next to our end for the first two months, then we put them in the crib in their own rooms.
Uppababy Bassinet and Bassinet stand for the first 2 months, then a crib in our room for the next million months. (Finally moved into a two bedroom apartment 2 months ago, lol)
In the first 4 weeks DD slept: - in the Rock 'n Play next to our bed - top/bassinet part of Pack 'n Play next to our bed - attached to my boob while I slept on our chaise lounge
At 4 weeks I decided neither of us was sleeping as well as we could so I put her in her crib in her room and she slept through the night from then on. Is that typical? Probably not, but we both slept worlds better in our own rooms so just be prepared that you might have to adjust things based on baby's temperament and needs.
My kids slept in RNP's till they were 5 mos old. Nothing wrong with using them. During the day eventually they also slept in swing or bouncers. At 3 mos we moved them to their bedroom so they slept there for naps and at night.
Exclusively the Rock and play for DS1. He would sleep no where else for like the first four months.
DS2 slept in his crib from day 2 or 3. We tried it just to see what happened and he fell asleep by himself. I cried. DS1 hadn't fallen asleep without a combination of crying and rocking and nursing for like six months. Actually for like two years. DS2 was so easy. Still is.
My kid is like the only one on the planet who didn't like sleeping in the RNP!
She slept in a bassinet or the car seat depending on her mood (swaddled, no less, parent of the year over here. So glad she didn't die given yesterday's post) next to me. The bassinet we used was actually the Vista bassinet that came with our stroller. I got the bassinet stand from Uppa Baby as well, and she slept in that thing for 4 months. Best purchase ever, we now use the stand as our laundry basket.
We also co-slept pretty frequently as well, but I was in the guest room with her by myself for at least the first 10 weeks. Then moved back with DH and she slept in the bassinet after that point.
DS1 - in our bed for the first 4 months. Colicky non sleeping kid - it sucked
DS2 - bassinet in our room. Moved him to the nursery at 3 weeks because he was a super noisy sleeper and I couldn't sleep near him.
DD - she slept reclined in the FP infant to toddler rocker. Next to the twin bed we have in the nursery and I slept in there until she was 6 week. I moved back to my bed at 6 weeks. At 9 weeks I moved her to the crib and her sleep didn't change. I sleep in the nursery bed after her 4am feeding because my DH gets up at 530am to get ready for work and I don't want to be woken up by him.
Our bassinet has a suffocation warning on it as well but when I looked at it closer it was a warning that putting extra padding in addition to the mattress that the bassinet comes with is a suffocation hazard. It is a different bassinet then the one you mentioned but I wonder if the warnings are the same.
I found a link to the warning on the bassinet we got:

7 weeks. It works great! We bring it when we visit family and just use the stroller instead of the bassinet stand.
The newborn napper on top of the PNP until he was 10, 11 weeks, then the bassinet portion of the PNP. He is still sleeping there.
He sometimes naps in the RNP, sometimes in the car seat, sometimes in his actual crib. Naps are all over the place, but nighttime sleep is always in the PNP in our bedroom.
