I discovered yesterday that Halloween is my husband's favorite holiday.
He's NEVER made a big deal out of it. We have no halloween decor or anything. We never host a party or do much beyond having candy for ToT and carving pumpkins. He has dressed up, but not every year.
I'm boggled. I had NO IDEA. We've been together for 14 years and I'm just finding this out.
And Thanksgiving is his 2nd favorite. This also surprises me. I think it's mostly the food.

I have 5 vacation days to use by the end of the year. This means I can take 5 long weekends, or the week of Christmas plus 2 long weekends, or the week of New Years plus one long weekend. Choices, choices.
There is a client here from Mexico. Her case has been in process for a few years and I don't really know much about it. She's sort of friends with my boss, so she's been around enough for me to be friendly with her, but I still didn't really know about her case.
Anyway, she's here to talk about her case with my boss. My boss is meeting with another client and I was making copies of some documents that this client had brought in. She says to me, "oh! Do you want to see a picture of my nephew?" Sure. She hands me a color picture of her nephew hanging dead in a tree. I'm expecting a school picture or family picture or somesuch. Nope. No, I am not lying. This really happened. I was horrified. It was unexpected. I don't handle seeing things like that well.
"Not gonna lie; I kind of keep expecting you to post one day that you threw down on someone who clearly had no idea that today was NOT THEIR DAY." ~dontcallmeshirley

That's very odd and very sad. Why would she do that without warning you?

I mean.... is the case about the dead nephew? But even then, what reasonable person would want to see or show such a thing?
