I tracked for 6ish weeks and then stopped at my H's request. I think I was starting to drive both of us crazy. I remember some 6-7 hour nursing days during maybe the 3 week growth spurt and again around 6 weeks.
I was at least attempting to use The Honest Company's app but stopped trying because I kept forgetting. I think you have to have a bundle to use it though?
I used total baby with DS for 15 months. I am using it with DD now. She nurses a relatively short period 7-8 minutes 6-7x a day. It's less than an hour total but I'm always full. The uncomfortable feeling didn't end for me last time for close to a year.
I'm in the minority in that I love tracking. I guess it's the data geek in me. My job also revolves around tracking baby intakes and outputs.
And I was nursing around 5-6 hours/day in those early days too. It has dropped pretty steadily over the past 8 weeks so now he averages about 1.5-2 hours nursing on my days off.
I tracked for 3 or 4 days after we got home and then quit because I just didn't care, lol.
I remember tracking everything for months with DS1 in a damn spiral notebook (pre smart phone in 2010). Looking back it was so crazy!
I'm also super happy that DD has been a quick nurser since birth. They boys used to take 40+ mins a feeding the first 2 months. DD has always been done in about 10-15 mins a feeding. A very welcomed change!
