My accountant husband wanted to create a hard, detailed budget to reflect our situation with me working vs. not; baby in daycare vs. not. He wants the behind the scenes info and to see how retirement and benefits shake out. Except as we are preparing this chart and he's all "Oh, that's not important." "No, your union dues, we won't worry about that."
DUDE! If I'm not working, I don't pay dues. If I am working, I pay dues. Taxes matter, if I am working, I pay them, not working I don't.
Grrr...This is how we are ending out date night. It's been a great night, I've had fun, but his fudgey numbers really frustrate me. Not to mention how distractible he is. Seriously - Squirrel!! - I don't know how he gets anything done at work.
It's a very powerful union (in CA so working with CTA too) and one of the biggest in our state. At first I resented seeing that much money go out the window but once I realized how much they do for the union members it made sense.

Mine are $105/month. Are you sure you're looking at monthly auroraloo?
I have an easily distracted engineer. He always wants to make a detailed budget but it ends up a lot like that. He is either asking for very specific info(usually for fluid things) or says it doesn't matter.
He always likes to start this late at night too. I finally give him over estimates of groceries, child care and gas and tell him I'm going to bed.

I found out yesterday that whooping cough is going around the 4th and 5th grade classes at my kids' school. One kid in DS2's class was out sick all of last week and there has been at least one out every day this week.

Heads. Will. Roll.
Oh ick. I hope you all are up on your immunizations?

The boys are. I woke up this morning feeling like I got hit by a truck but I think it's something else. At least we managed to avoid the tummy bug that went around.
