Or Costco I suppose. I'm going to redeem my free membership and I'm not sure what's better to buy there! We don't have a big freezer so we can't stock up on tons of stuff. So what do you usually buy at Sam's over the grocery store/Target/etc?
I get paper towels, tissues, dish soap, dishwasher tabs, clorox wipes, detergent, vinegar (I use it in place of fabric softener and for cleaning, so I use the big jugs), lightbulbs, frozen chicken, frozen pizza, fruit, veggies (sometimes- still get these at the grocery store too), rotisserie chicken, yogurt (again, still get at grocery store too), sometimes baby clothes, sometimes books.

The main reason we go to Sam's is to buy ground beef. I can get the 90% lean for way cheaper per pound than 80% is at our grocery store (I really prefer to eat leaner beef). We used to buy frozen chicken too but now I can get it cheaper at our grocery store whereas at my old store it was more expensive.
They generally have a good bakery if you need something like that, their french bread is really good. On our last trip we bought a big box of granola bars. We have in the past bought staples like milk and eggs, fruit, veggies, and other meats (brats/turkey sausage type stuff). It just depends what we need at the time, how much we need, and what the prices are (they fluctuate on some things)
I think the key is knowing what things cost where you normally buy it because IMO, a lot of stuff isn't necessarily cheaper, it's just more convenient to buy in bulk.
HoneySpider My mom has had a membership for a long time and she's always warned me about certain things not being cheaper, especially since they won't do coupons. Typically things like pop tend to be cheaper at the grocery store because you can get it on sale or use coupons. I do like some of the stuff in their bakery. Their cupcakes are sooooo good. Not that I need to buy any of those
I'm so bad at shopping at Sams. I impulsive shop and I need to do more research before I go in. I end up spending way more than I should.
This is my fear, lol. I feel like I'm going to be like, hey, we could totally use this... and this, and this... and suddenly I'm spending $200 or something. I'm trying to avoid that!
The 90% lean beef is so much cheaper. I bought 20 pounds last time I was at Sam's and came home and bagged each lb individually and froze them. Also, ground turkey was a great price (cheaper then beef and you can make some really good recipes with it!).
There is a few food items I buy there as well almond butter coconut oil gluten free flour coconut flour
I also buy printer ink there.
And we get a few treat items like hot cocoa, nutella, trail mix.
