Omg you guys, daycare called and mentioned ds has a minor rash on his butt and inner thighs and that they would keep an eye on it. I hang up and suddenly realize he is wearing new sweat pants that we didn't wash first. I swear I always wash his new stuff but we were rushed and that happened. Even though I have no way of knowing for sure, now I feel guilty and awful. Ughhhhhh. Such a bad feeling. The one time he wears something new and unwashed, what are the odds? Also I'm having a pity party because I literally have gotten a call from daycare almost every week for the past 2 months whether it's fever, pink eye or this. Wahhhhh.
I'm sure I'll get flamed for this, but I haven't washed clothes pre-wear since I was pregnant with my first. Honestly, I'd never even heard of it until TB.
Thanks auroraloo and lala. I heard it here too so it popped into my head after I hung up. Maybe the rash is from the dry winter weather or from his poop fest yesterday! Hopefully just a weird coincidence. Crossing my fingers it looks better after nap so I can finish my work day!!

This. I have enough laundry to do, I'm not adding to it. Mr.latte used to give me a hard time about it but he doesn't care enough to wash them either so we just wear new. Don't feel guilty. I imagine that most people probably don't actually wash before wearing.

I never, ever, ever wash new clothes before wearing them. Honestly, they look the best the first time they're worn, before they're washed - once they're washed I'm much less excited about them. And fwiw, DS2 has a rash today too (but no new clothes involved) and it looks like his drool rash is coming back on his face . Maybe it is the weather? It sucks, though.

I totally feel this way about my clothes. DH pre-washes everything, and we do pre-wash the kids clothes. Laundry is my sickness so I really don't mind.

I'd be kind of annoyed that they called to say he has a rash. Unless it looks like chicken pox or poison ivy or something, why not just mention it at pick-up? It's not like you can do anything about it over the phone.

Right?! So it basically stressed me out to get a call in the morning and then I was worried about it all day trying to get my work in order in case I had to bounce. Then when I picked him up, no update, get him home, and it's on the top of his feet and hands too. Ummmm ok. Gave him Benadryl and it was gone this am so all good. Their best teacher just resigned due to family issues and the one that took her place might still be settling it but ughhhh.
