How much room do art supplies take up at your house, and where do you store them? I feel like our stuff takes up a LOT of room. I.e. play dough, drawing paper, paints, crayons, markers, stickers, coloring books, construction paper, etc.
Not too bad yet since ds is 2.5 but I have a pull out drawer in the playroom closet where I keep everything and also some stuff on his play table. Eventually I plan to use a set of drawers to contain lol. He has an easel too and the trays hold stuff.
A lot. We have 12" deep kitchen cabinets facing our dining room w/ drawers & shelves. We use 2 of those - 2 drawers & 2 full cabinets full of markers, crayons, dot markers, stamps, play doh, paper, coloring books, pencils, pens, scissors, glue, beads, etc. We have a ton and they really do use it all but it's the messiest area. I clean it out fairly often and keep the bulk of the construction paper in the basement.
I have two shelves of my pantry devoted to it. I have various storage containers holding scissors, glue, crayons, markers, paints, I stack coloring books, and play doh + tools live in a basket. Everything else is kind of shoved in there. I'd live one of those ten drawer rainbow shelving units, but I dont know where I'd put it that that little ones would t destroy it.
Okay, so I'm not alone. Good idea on the standing bins for paper! I might try that. We have a couple cabinets full of stuff. Maybe there's just no other way. Also, b/c they get things out themselves, it's always all messy.

I have boxes that are supposed to live under the side table in our dining room (it's a sofa table that we didn't have room for elsewhere), but they kind of end up lined up in front of the table instead because they're too hard for the kids to lift and stack and I got tired of putting them back every day. I'd like to replace that table with a cabinet that I could keep all that stuff in someday.
I use a few drawers in a hutch near our dining room table - which is informal and a large slab of wood that we do pretty much everything on. Ideally I would like to keep the supplies and the projects in his playroom but DS isn't a huge art and crafts fan so he will only do it when he's near me and I'm in the kitchen. I keep paints and an easel in the garage because we do that outside. DS loves to paint his cars and make tracks so then he can do a "car wash" outside when he's done.
PSA: If you get any Alex brand arts and crafts stuff there are huge savings today only on Amazon. Deal of the day... Also, if your kids are into Zoobs they are 40-50% off on Amazon today.

I have an old dresser in a closet. It's filled. On top is baskets and buckets with the common stuff like crayons and markers. I also have a table full of my own fabrics and trims for headband making.
