Started a new post so that these wouldn't get buried. Old color was nasty, scratched brown with 80's brown trim. I love the white trim but I think the grey looks really off with the yellow/red stained glass. Cheap and industrial, perhaps. If I had my way we'd replace it all, but that would be thousands of dollars for nothing. The door is perfectly fine. My husband thinks we should try the burgundy of our other rooms. Thoughts?
Excuse the tape and smeared paint, like I said, work in progress.
Before (kind of, obviously the panels are already primed. I forgot a real before.):
It's okay but I think you can do better. The gray seems a little too cool for the glass. Maybe a warmer gray/greige? White trim around the windows may help. I'm going to ditto your comment about the yellow glass. TBH, changing the glass would help the most, but that is the more expensive and difficult option.

Yeah, if we bothered changing the glass we'd just get all new doors. I think it's about 3k from my initial estimates and I want to re-do a bathroom first.
Okay, now I feel dumb because I thought that the yellow was tape! I didn't realize that the glass was yellow.
Don't feel dumb. The yellow is tape too. The glass and the tape are almost the same color, so there is a tape border around a lot of things, but some of the yellow is unfortunately permanent.
I don't think that color is right. Hmm. I would definitely paint the trim around the glass white. I think that would help. I think the new color you picked would be much better.

Well at our old house we painted the front door burgundy with left over paint from our family room, so clearly I favor that I generally like bolder colors, though.
I feel thrown off by the yellow glass, but overall the gray looks decent. I don't love it, but it's neutral and not bad. I think I would change it to the burgundy.

I don't love it but it's also not bad. Typically I prefer neutral colors and we did a lot of grey in our house...but given the color of the window glass I would try the burgundy. I think it will look much better overall.
I think the burgundy would be better, but I certainly don't hate it now. It's definitely an improvement! And ditto the others who said painting the trim around the glass in the side lights.
