Well, it was confirmed today that my mom does have uterine cancer. She sees an oncologist on Tuesday to see how bad it is and if a regular hysterectomy will be fine or if she needs a radical hysterectomy to take everything. They will be taking the lymph nodes to see how far it's spread and whether she will need chemo after or not.
Last week we found out my mom's aunt was diagnosed with lung cancer. Too far for surgery, they are hoping to slow it with chemo/radiation.
This fucking sucks. I need a drink, but no alcohol in the house and won't be for a looooong time with H recovering. Ugh.
I feel like it was inevitable. My maternal grandfather and paternal grandmother had various cancers. They were older when they were diagnosed, though. Mom is only 52. Dad was planning on retiring in April, I have a feeling this will change if she needs time off of work for chemo.
