If you blog, tell me how you plan. How often do you write, what do you write about? I tried a food blog for a while and fell off that wagon fast. I honestly don't even know how to access it anymore. I'm considering keeping a blog reviewing YA books while I'm on leave as a way to keep up with the field and have some evidence to prove it. I'm worried I'm biting off more than I can chew. Also, I really only have an iPad, but it does have a keyboard. I don't like using the computer because it's on the tv screen and it's hard for me to see.

I actually just started with a crafts/projects/ideas/whatever blog a couple months ago and I'm trying to keep it relatively low-key and low stress and just write things up as we do them. I do it about 98% from my iPad and that part has been working out pretty well, but I'm just kind of learning as I go and hoping I pick up readers here and there from Pinterest and Facebook without having to do any heavy-duty marketing. The hardest part is making sure to take pictures - not even great pictures, which is freaking impossible with my kids - but just remembering to stop what I'm doing and snap a couple shots along the way, especially if I'm writing up a tutorial.
If you're reviewing books, the photo aspect is probably minimal, which will save you a TON of time. You should go for it!
DH keeps telling me I should start a blog. Really I think he's just tired of hearing me rant about things like the crazy helicopter mom at the park following her kid around with a banana begging her to take a bite or the mom at school pick up who backs her van into the driveway exit because the entrance is closed at kinder pick up and parks in the fire lane.
I have a lot of resources for you. I don't really blog anymore, but I did it pretty regularly.
As a teacher, if you want to build an audience, you need to have a teacher account on Twitter. #titletalk would be a good place to start to find newer released books you may not know about. nerdybookclub.com would be a good place to offer to write a couple reviews.
I wouldn't be able to do it on the iPad. But I don't love my iPad for anything that requires typing. I would invest in a Chromebook, you can get them really cheap, I paid 150 for mine, and it would service just about all your needs. I use it a lot at work too, and it's saved me a ton of time.
Are you taking your 2 years with this one?
Ruth Soukop's website has a lot of resources for blogging. I also have a pinterest board "BLog Diggity" (I'm funny. Seriously. I am.) with a bunch of resources.
