Just discovered that the backyard fence separating our yard and the neighbors is broke. So in an hour or so we'll be knocking on their door. We both have dogs, so that's gotta be fixed sooner than later.

No good. I have chicken wire zip tied to my fence because of the holes. I really want a privacy fence but we rent. :^) My dog has gotten out so many times despite the chicken wire. we have a wood board and our old recycling box jammed up against it too. It's worked out so far, but yeah It needs a more permanent solution

We have chicken wire fencing all along the landscaping too. Surprisingly, both dogs are respectful of the boundary, after some initial trying to get around it the first time a squirrel was on the other side.
The actual fence that is broken is a 4 foot wood privacy one. Two of the sections are leaning and one of the planks is in the neighbor's yard. Not an expense we wanted right now, so I'm hoping they will be nice and go in for half the repair.

Hopefully they will go half with you. I'm talking to LL in the spring to offer him the same thing. I'll pay for half of a privacy fence and see if he can pay the other half. I can deal with the dog getting out, it's the fact that it is a 4 foot chain link that my daughter can jump straight over. I can't have that. I hate that we finally have a yard and she can't play outside in it.
I didn't sleep well last night. H was snoring and Bowser was being restless and I woke up feeling like crap.
H is elk hunting this morning, so I'm sitting on the couch eating breakfast, watching Generation Kill, and trying to convince myself to start working on homework. That's my plan for the rest of the day.

Honestly, since it sounds like the fence broke due to normal wear and tear rather than something negligent that you did, I would expect the landlord to pay for the repair.

We own, so no landlord
Whoops! Sorry, I misread something somehow and thought I saw you mention your landlord. Haha. My bad!
DH and I cleaned most of yesterday. He did way more then me. I'm hoping to continue cleaning for this morning, and taking the rest of the day off. Feels great getting so much done in one day.

Yesterday we went to the Dr. Seuss musical and it was super cute and fun. We had a friend come visit from the city and spent all day with her, until putting her back on the train at 8:45. It was really nice since I hadn't seen her in a couple years. We did the musical, lunch, hung out, and dinner. Also got to hand down a lot of clothes and some curtains to her, so it was nice to help her and get rid of stuff too.
Today we're doing laundry and DH is removing an old vanity to see what the tile situation is like underneath. Then we'll go buy new vanities and faucets to be installed next weekend by a handyman we know.
I hardly slept last night so today should be fun. DH wants to go to a few wineries so I am taking him since he can't drive right now. His back is still all messed up. I'm taking him to a specialist on Thursday. Besides that it's going to be a lazy Sunday.
H and I are thinking about painting our fridge with chalkboard paint.
Good idea or bad idea?
I wouldn't personally but I'm not a huge fan of chalk boards.
I'm being lazy today. I'm exhausted and have a headache that won't go away. Might run to the grocery store here in a few to get some things for the week.
@moonbeam - It's a basic white side-by-side fridge. It stands out right now because all of the other appliances are black and/or stainless steel. We want to paint the cabinets white so we thought it might look better if the fridge color was a bit closer to the other appliances. I'm not completely convinced, though.
I would leave the fridge as-is. Although the chalkboard paint in the inspiration pic looks good now, I think the reality is that it would be really messy and kind of gross-looking after a while. It wouldn't bother me if one appliance was different from the others. I would just wait and then maybe buy a new matching one sometime down the road.
katespade what about the texture on fridges? Wouldn't that make it really hard to even write on the chalkboard surface? For that reason alone I wouldn't paint it. The example picture is one of the few models with a smooth surface. I suppose if yours is the same it does look nice, but I worry about wear and tear too. Maybe just buy a black fridge? lol.
amaranth - That's a good point! I didn't think about the texture causing issues. I can't remember if ours is smooth or not. Maybe we could just use regular paint to paint it black. We probably will get a new fridge eventually, but it's not at the top of our priority list so it might be a while. Haha.
katespade I think the inspiration pic of the chalkboard fridge is definitely cute. I have an aversion to the texture of chalk and chalkboards in general though, so I wouldn't personally do it. If you don't have that aversion yourself, I would say only do it if you are planning to replace it within the next year. I don't know how well it would hold up, and you might get sick of it.
I got tons of cleaning done today, now I'm relaxing watching a movie. I finally bought a shoe rack and will organize my shoes later. I am so exciting, lol.
awick14 I was loving your pictures today on Instagram. It's so beautiful where you are!
I leased a new car yesterday! My beloved 2005 Corolla's entire exhaust system needed to be replaced. It was going to be pricy and I couldn't see myself spending that much money on a ten year old car. I leased a 2016 Corolla and I love it. I feel so fancy! I've never owned/leased a new car before.
suzv & @moonbeam- I live in one of the most beautiful places and DH and I were discussing how we never really get out and enjoy it. We need to do it more often because it was so much fun.
