Same as @tokenhoser. Mine are 26 months apart. We hardly ever use it. It's a sit and stand, and when you have 70+ pounds of kid in it, it's not easy to steer. But still better than listening to whining. We took it to the zoo this past weekend, and I was glad we had it.
We aren't big stroller people. Dd1&2 are 2.5 years apart, and I never felt like I needed one. Dd2&ds are 2 years apart, and sometimes there are times I wish I had one, but I really don't think about it that often. Dd2 goes in the stroller and I wear Ds. Dd2 fights just about everything so I imagine she wouldn't even go in a stroller often enough to make it worthwhile.

YaY! I love my uppa baby vista. I love that it can be a double or single since I don't always have both. Even at 2.5, my oldest likes sitting in the stroller, or I make her to be contained. I liked wearing the baby when she was little, but now at 6 months she loves the stroller. For us def worth it!

We don't use it a ton, but I'm glad we always had that option. I got a city select that I keep in my car with one seat on always and just added the second seat if I needed it.

We have a phil and teds, it's great since I can leave the jumpseat off if we don't need it but we usually just have it on there anyway and throw stuff in the seat if dd3 doesn't want to sit, but when we need it, it's great to have
I am in your same boat in that #2 isn't here yet but I am definitely getting a double BOB for running and for neighborhood walks.
Right now we have a lightweight umbrella stroller that we keep in the car and use at the mall etc. My current plan is to hold off on buying a double version of this…if #2 likes being worn I might do that for a while in those situations. Ideally around 6 months, or whenever #2 can sit up well enough to use an umbrella-type stroller, I'll reevaluate and see if DD still tolerates the stroller well enough to invest in a double.
The boys are 2y4m apart and I don't have one, nor have I ever wanted one.
C hasn't ridden in a stroller willingly since he was about 2. He hates it. He is fine in shopping carts, and at places like the zoo is pretty good about holding hands or staying where we can see him (we let him run ahead a bit). He actually really likes pushing the stroller now which is good at a) keeping him close and b) saving me work, ha.
I could always wear the baby in the Tula if I absolutely needed C to go in the stroller, but I doubt he'd ride willingly.
Our boys are just over two years apart. We used our double stroller a ton. We bought a Phil & Teds with a rumble seat, so it could be a single with a huge basket or a double. We live in the middle of the city though, and often walk to get groceries, to the park, and to local restaurants. If I was in the suburbs, and used a car to get everywhere, I'd probably have had a lot less need for a pricey double stroller.
25 months apart and we are only 4.5 months into being parents of two but so far I like having a double. Ben likes to walk short distances but we like to have the option to let him ride. We use the stroller a lot. I am looking forward to being able to use the double umbrella but that's still a few months away.
Mine are a little farther apart, 2yr, 8mo. We had a double stroller, but only used it once or twice. I was glad I got it at a yard sale! We have rented double strollers at the zoo and at Disney. It's not too expensive to rent one. I ended u money ahead, and didn't have to store it all the time!
A friend gave us a handle that we can attach to the stroller. It was a lifesaver. I thought there would be no way that DS1 word actually hang on to it, but he loved it! He never gets tired of walking, but we needed something to kind of contain him when we were out. I'll see if I can find a link.
Yay. We like to go for walks in the evenings and we have a Schwinn double jogging stroller and I love it. It is just narrow enough to get through doorways if needed and it is a side-by-side vs. a front-back. I didn't like the longer front-back strollers because I had a hard time steering. Our stroller has the swivel front wheel so I can maneuver it easily. It is also nice if we are out and about and DD2 would rather walk because I have the basket underneath and the extra seat that I can load things in.

We don't plan to get one and our kids will be 2y5m apart. My DS refuses to ride in it now. Too bad, so sad, kid, you're going to have to walk everywhere.

Mine our 26 months apart. My ILs gave us a City Mini double. I'm glad we didn't spend our own money on it. It's nice to have but that was for maybe a year.
We are two weeks into having two who are 25.5 months apart. We have used ours every day, but we do a lot of walking and have used the single stroller pretty much every day of M's life before the second one was born as well.
If you don't use a stroller now I don't see why you suddenly would need one because you have a second kid.
Are you or your DH going to be alone with both children often?
I'll be alone on Saturday afternoons. In my head, I can avoid the mall that day. Any other store we'd go to would have a cart, I can put her in the seat on top, and the baby in the car seat in the actual cart. I don't see myself taking them to the zoo or anything without my husband. By the time the baby would be out of the infant car seat, she'd be closer to 2.75 years old.
Then I'd probably skip it. Wear the baby and push H in the stroller/cart if you're in a pinch.
I have two doubles, a side by side and a sit and stand, and I really liked them for my first 2u2 and you know, I'm at home by myself with the kids a lot. But by the time I had my third, I was exhausted from hauling around that much stroller honestly. My baby is just over two and he rides in the single stroller when I need him contained or to help me get out of places. But quick trips, nah, I skip the stroller now. By almost 3, I seriously doubt you'll need it enough to justify the cost. Now, if you find a deal on Craigslist or something, sure, but don't spend $$$ on one.
mine are 2 years apart. At first I had a clunky double (chicco cortina together) I bought it used for cheap and yes, I used it some but not a TON. I used a double umbrella then for a while which was great especially when I had to travel with both kids alone, used it a lot. Then a few months ago I got a used Bob Duallie from craigslist and we are still using that now. My kids are 3.5 and 1.5
it helps that my daughter has always willingly sat in a stroller and enjoys it. My son is still young so who knows how he'll feel about it when he's older, but I assume we won't be using it for that much longer anyway. Maybe until the summer
Overall I think if I were to do over, I'd have gotten the double bob to start out, and also a double umbrella stroller to pop in the car/use for travel. The double bob is easy to push and very smooth but I don't even try to fold that thing up to put it in the car, it's large and cumbersome.

I absolutely positively need it and plan to use it for years to come (ages 3.5 and 1.5), but we live in NYC and walk a ton. I hate my city select double and cannot wait to sell it. I've pre ordered the uppababy G link and will hopefully love it. The city select is like steering a giant boat, I HATE it.
oh, also I'm not a huge fan of baby wearing, which is another reason I wanted a double stroller option. Especially when it was hot out, I couldn't stand the baby welded to my body with sweat if we were outside for prolonged periods
Yes, for sure. We live in a city and I needed it so we could walk the dogs. I got a sit and stand and added the jump seat so DD1 could sit too. It also held the bucket seat when the baby was tiny. I like having options.
It does depend how much you walk. We regularly walk multiple miles, I can't deal with my 3 year old dragging her feet then crying about her legs being tired and wanting to be carried etc.
Mine are 25 mo apart. I initially wasn't planning on getting one bc we have the older uppa baby vista with rumble seat. I discovered I don't like using it as a double since I can't really see the kid in the rumble seat.
I was going to buy a bob dualie but the salesperson showed me the city mini gt double and I like how it folded down smaller than the bob since it has smaller wheels. I'm glad we have it for the zoo and outdoor events. We probably could have gotten away with using a carrier and single stroller but I like having the ability to put both kids in the stroller.

My kids are 29 months apart and the double stroller kept my sanity. I loaded my little one up every day and took both kids on morning walks. I walk for exercise. My kids have never loved the stroller, but I wanted to do it for me.
We have a Bob duallie and still use it once in a while and the kids are 3 1/2 and 6.

Mine are 22 months apart and I have two double strollers, lol. One jogging/outdoor walks and one inline for stores. They've both been extremely necessary for keeping kids corralled.
