DD1 (4.5) wants a robot (that walks) from Santa. At one point she also said a gorilla robot, but I'm trying to steer her away from that one. Anyway, any cool robot toys out there? Bonus if it's on the more budget friendly side b/c Santa is a little broke this year.
Also -- are magna tiles a good present for a 2 year old (26 months)?

Does she like dogs? Would the zoomer zuppies suffice?
Both my kids liked magnatiles at 2. They didn't really get how to build structures with them and just stacked them. It still was entertaining and they definitely grew into them.
We have Magformers and I like them better since they are open shapes, I find them easier for little hands to grab. DS2 can't do a lot but he enjoys pulling them apart and putting them back together.

If santa is a little broke I would wait for magnatiles. A 2 year old can safely play with them and enjoy them, but they won't open them and be excited about them. That was the big gift ds asked for at 4 and he was so excited to get them. I think when dd was 2 she asked for and got a $5 stuffed Nemo and was thrilled. Unless you have the money to spend every year, I'd save expensive big gifts for when they can appreciate them.

I soooo hear you on this point, but I have about a million ideas for DD1 and basically 2 ideas for DD2 (a doll from santa and a scooter from the ILs) so I'm trying to somehow move some of my ideas for DD1 into the DD2 column. They are pretty good at sharing so I feel like this will spread out the gifts. My plan was to tell my parents to get the magna tiles anyway...or not. Then my brother and aunt are going to want gift ideas for the girls too. And the ILs are going to want to get more than the scooter - though I'm thinking an experience gift of some sort...
