If this is LifeTouch, this is literally the only decent execution of that pose, and I have seen it from 3 schools that are 100s of miles apart with kids of all body types.
Even the model on the flyer was awkward. It was most awkward with all the 'fluffy' teachers posing with chin down. In my photo my mouth is smiling; my eyes clearly say WTAF is this pose? I have 5 chins and I get to wear it proudly on my badge daily.

Yep, Lifetouch. The pose feels very Glamour Shots, lol. She has a cute scooter one, too.

Wait, what?
We were all made to put out chins down, much like OPs child. Even the thin teachers have more than 1 chin, the overweight ones (like me) have more than 2 chins and deep shadows along the right side of the face. No one ever takes a selfie with her chin down and expects to look good. It's like having a formal portrait of when you are looking down at your phone and the camera is facing you. And it's a full body shot, with some people made to pose with thumbs stuck in pockets or hands sassy on hips, in ways that were completely unnatural and uncomfortable for them.
It was a very poor self-esteem day on picture day and the day the photos came back for many of my co-workers. There is a demand to return to our local studio, who just did a standard head shot.
