I'm throwing a last minute party together Saturday night. It's going to be 12-15 people. Plus a few kids if their parents decide to bring them (they are more than welcome to come) Here's what I am planning:
Mac & cheese bar ( main meal) - with extra cheese, bacon, diced ham, chopped hot dog, grilled chicken, chopped peppers, mushrooms, tomatoes, jalapeƱos, avocado, salsa, sour cream as mix ins
As apps: Cheese platter Pickle/olive platter Veggie platter Spinach dip Pigs in a blanket Wings Shrimp cocktail Chips and dip
For drinks: Soda, water, ice tea Hard cider Wine Apple sangria
Do you think this will be ok? Too much? Not enough?
I'd skip the cheese platter since the entree is max n cheese (yum!). Everything sounds delicious but that's a lot of food, so I might also skip the shrimp because that doesn't seem to fit in as well.
Are you going to have any desserts? You need something sweet to go with all that salty.
I'm late to the game, but I agree that dropping the shrimp and the cheese platter is a good choice. Also, I would like to come to a party at your house. I've never heard of a mac & cheese bar, but it sounds like the best idea EVER!

Can you eat Mac N Cheese, or is that something you've had to give up? It's one of my comfort foods.

It depends on the cheeses that are used, but I usually do well with small portions. Thank goodness because I looooooooooove mac & cheese. I actually just had a Velveeta shells & cheese for dinner. Hahaha.
