Well, mainly DD1. We literally had breakfast half an hour ago and already "I'm hungry..." I mean, am I not feeding the girl enough? It's like a constant refrain. I'm hungry - especially when we just ate a meal. Sometimes she doesn't eat much at the meal, but sometimes she eats plenty.
I'm so tired of hearing those words. Today for breakfast she had an apple, some cereal and some yogurt.
Also - random vent, but preschool starts way too late for us! My kids are up by 7, lately 6:30 and school doesn't start until 9:30. It's killing me. We regularly have an hour and a half to kill before we have to go to school.
Mine loves to say his "belly is really hungry" anytime we get in the car or when he gets tired. I give him water first to see if he is thirsty and then a non preferred snack. Sometimes he is really hungry but usually it's a stall.
My middle is like that. She's always hungry no matter when she ate last, how much she ate, etc. It has nothing to do with stalling, being bored or anything. I really think she's just hungry a lot.
I've never gotten bored in the morning, even though the get up early - but the latest we've had to leave is 8:45 for preschool, now we have to be ready by 8:10.
Are both kids up that early? I don't go downstairs until 7. Now that they are 7 & 4, they're downstairs coloring most mornings. Sometimes DD1 will make them waffles or cereal before I wake up.
Jack is often up somewhere between 6:30 and 6:45 but i can usually let him play, talk, whatever for a bit. Even if he's half heartedly crying, I let it go.
Before they are old enough to go downstairs alone, they could play in their room until I said it was time to go down.
No advice here, just sympathy. DS gets up at 6:30 and DD at 5:30 . I make DH hang out with them until I get up because I just can't handle them for that long. My DS uses "I'm hungry" as a stall tactic too - he just used it (while at the supper table) because I said it was bath time. Little tricksters.
