I thought the ending was pretty dumb and predictable, but overall I thought it was a fun read.
That the killer was tom?
I did find it ironic that she killed him with a corkscrew, since she thought all of her problems stemmed from drinking.
I think it will be a good movie.
I listened to the audio book - so I think I missed some details and didn't pick up on as much since I was not reading it. Who was the "red haired man" she was talking to on the train and where did he fit into the story again?
ETA: I'll probably still see the movie, because I have a feeling it will translate better into film.
Totally agree.
Since we said spoilers, I think the corkscrew part will translate better on film. On the page, I just rolled my eyes. Maybe because I was an English major, so it felt like a teenager's metaphor. "The booze almost killed her but then, it killed HIM!" dun. dun. dun.

I feel like I say it every time this book comes up, but REALLY, Tom's whole "Bond villain" speech at the end just sent me over the edge. I was ALREADY hate-reading at that point, I didn't need what felt like 7,000 words on how great he thought he was.
I hope to God that shit gets edited for the movie, lol.
Isn't Emily Blunt playing Rachel in the movie? I love her.
The ending was dumb. I feel like the author strung me along with the red haired dude. He ended up having literally zero significance, so I wish she hadn't wasted time on him. I really thought he was going to play a larger role.

I liked it. I didn't think it was anywhere close to Gillian Flynn, but it was an easy read and it held my interest. I loved The Kind Worth Killing. I also just finish Disclaimer which was a good PREMISE, but obviously the woman's first novel. It also made me want to throw shit. My next book is In a Dark Dark Wood. I really liked Sharp Objects and so was recommended this book. We will see.
